My indigenous great-grandfather, who did go to residential school, built a farmhouse with his own hands. He also fought in WWI. Lived to be 104. I met him when I was a little kid. Certainly a much more admirable and responsible man than Pierre Poilievre.

Pierre Poilievre is not a leader nor does he have a clue of what a day of hard work means.

“Hard Work” is such a shitty ideal to have. Life should be getting easier as we discover new and useful inventions and ideas. Why we must be physically exhausted more than cave people were is because of capitalism. It slows progress, halts some innovation entirely, and makes us all work harder than we ever should have had to.
I will never in any way support someone who believes things should be harder for any commoner than they are now. We need politicians who want to make our lives easier.

Holy shit, this guy is so uneducated. He clearly has no concept of trauma, generational trauma, compassion, or empathy.
Not to mention that the financial reparations are literally written into our constitution under the Indian Act. Even if he won, he’d never be able to change it.

Attacking Indigenous people is a thing with the conservatives.
President Trump questions Native American birthright
Canada, stand united. The next election is very important. Vote and vote informed.
This election is between democracy and tech tyranny. Understand what is Trump’s and Elon’s vision for their bleak future and how your vote matters in Canada’s election. Their ambitions don’t stop at the American border.Â
When is a reporter going to do a deep dive into the Con caucus to find out how many of these guys have US passports? We know Andrew Scheer has one. How many more are going to sell us out when Trump comes to rape us?

Wow, Please Canada, don’t elect that douche… I say that as an American who is so deeply and painfully ashamed of what my country has done.
Someone took a pretty standard picture of grown-up-but-still-wearing-glasses-regular-angry Pierre Poilievre and pasted his “quote” **from 2008 and labeled it 2018**. [That exact same picture already exists with that “quote” and the more accurate June 2008 date.](https://www.instagram.com/jacqualine_haller/reel/DEpChh_pKJK/) He looked like a little kid asshole playing grown up in his dad’s suit when he originally said this.
I use quote in quotations because I can’t be bothered to track down the original audio from an Ottawa radio program in 2008. but **this seems to be paraphrasing what he actually said in 2008** [“My view is that we need to engender the values of hard work and independence and self-reliance. That’s the solution in the long run — more money will not solve it,” Poilievre said.](https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/conservative-mp-apologizes-for-hurtful-comments-on-aboriginal-people-1.712106)
Truth matters, even with this asshole, maybe more so. There’s probably someone over in whatever angry version of r/canada making up quotes about Mark Carney. They sure did with Trudeau, Freeland, any Liberal. **The OP should remove this and re-up it with the actual quote** and an actual picture of Pierre Poilievre from that era, and they could still make their point. And more importantly because over 3,000 people upvoted something that distorts the truth, and of the over 500 comments very few people questioned the accuracy. That’s dangerous for all of us, no matter which side you’re on. Be on truth’s side and make your case.
