I always feel so weird about the whole “unlock your car with a tap of your phone” features that a lot of modern cars have been pushing like that just sounds like a colossal vulnerability for like 0 convenience

The idea of someone being able to do that remotely from anywhere just makes me more averse to the whole concept

Seriously, what the fuck? Never buying a Snitchmobile. (I wasn’t anyway, but extra now.)

The charging one isn’t such a problem – that’s like the CCTV when you get petrol. The rest, though… woof!

No, but why does the Cybertruck want to lock people in when it’s on fire? Unless it hates undercooked human?

This is very concerning. It has no natural predators

The PanoptiCar.

The same people that were telling me there was a conspiracy where Bill Gates was going to track me with covid vaccines and 5g are now telling me how cool it is that Elon Musk is able to track your vehicle, retrieve pictures of you, and remotely access the car’s features without a warrant.

>How come Elon Musk unlock my car remotely

I don’t think he sat at his desk and pressed the Unlock Fucknuts’ Car button. Also, a security system that can’t be disabled is a fucking safety hazard

>How come Elon Musk has footage of the charging stations

He probably owns a lot of them. And also I heard word he has an anti-vandalism surveillance system on them, which is Bad, but I really doubt those bastards have higher quality than the rest of the death box

>Why does the car lock when it explodes

I wish I knew, but I bet you money that Elon paid money to not have Da Gubmint safety test his cars to learn why beforehand

These are all…very good questions.

Tesla’s been allowed to do what other auto makers weren’t allowed to with gas stations, electric car charging stations that are tesla branded. It’s vertical business integration.

How come elon musk can aid a federal investigation

If this is a shock to you, you’re a fucking moron.

They have access to everything, Terms and Conditions guys, just like your phone. Teslas have cameras all over them and just a few years ago there were news reports of Tesla employees watching live video feeds from Teslas including video of owners walking in their garages in various states of undress.

I doubt it was Elon personally it was probably just a rep at tesla doing all that. He probably does have access to all those things if he really cared to, but bezos has recordings of every goon session anyone’s ever had with an Alexa in the room so this is nothing new. Devices that are always listening to you and always recording unfortunately just make that a reality

Welcome to this dystopia. It’s basically cyberpunk except the tech that isn’t easily exploitable for cache – that stuff is decades old (like prostetics, mobility, or medicine)

everyone is begining to understand why elon sells the tesla. It has nothing to do with sustainability

The fact that people think it’s somehow okay for your car’s manufacturer to be able to digitally unlock your car is… such a mindfuck. Like… what the hell ?

The world is really making me feel Bo Burnham Inside recently

This is why we have to have the means of production. Total transparency. Open source.

the cyberwhatthefuck case now?

…are you alright over there in yankistan?

edit: aaaand downvoted for not being up to date with us news, despite the context clearly indicating i’m not american. nevermind i guess

i can taste the privacy violations already

Because it’s all in the cloud and anything you contribute to the company, any company that uses a cloud service is property of that company and they can use it any way they want. Some companies fight governmental agencies from providing the information but others provide upon request.

I think it auto locks so that there are no witnesses. It’s a design feature.

bi brother is watching so make sure you are on your best behavior.

Hmm is there a cam inside of Tesla cars? If so Elon has access to a lot of porn.

If my car blows up go ahead and unlock it

Yeah but the thing still unlocked remotely after the interior was set on fire?

Also you couldn’t just give the door the good old reach around the windows were gone just need to pop the manual overrride

So you’re telling me a burned to the ground vehicle still had working electronics? Bull shit

most new cars can be unlocked and also started from the “factory” One of my friends work at a volkswagen repair center and he can literally unlock, turn on the engine and AC in any new volkswagen group vehicle remotely just by having its VIN number.

basically any newer car with an SOS button (meaning it is connected to the factory at all times) can be tracked and remotely controlled

So if I lock myself out of a Tesla, all I have to do is tweet Elon?

Thats not an elon thing tho?

Cctv exist at every gas station. A new car with those safety features that calls mercedes for example can do the same. They can unlock the car for you too.

Hey how come people are still buying the cybertruck

Um – y’all are aware that he owns like most of the communications systems the US government relies on…..and if you don’t believe me….do a bit of research. I’m too lazy to provide links right now

1. Tesla is planning to make all their cars robotaxi compatible. The cars have a lot of tech of course you can remote unlock it.
2. The doors were likely locked before the fire. There is an emergency manual release if you are inside.
3. All Tesla have cameras for AP/FSD.

Any kinda source? Would love to share this width some friends but they’re gonna bully me bc screenshot of tumblr

And then americans think they’re free. Yes, freely controlled.
