About 1976 or so, we camped for days on that little beach beside the Tulum ruins. We had backpacks, a tent and a hammock. There were no people except the lovely family who ran the lighthouse. Tulum main beach just south of there was pristine and deserted. Not a single person or structure for miles and miles. It was paradise.

That’s a nice spot. Took the same picture in 1991

The Yucatan is so amazing.

Stunning view! The turquoise water and lush greenery make Tulum look like paradise.

oh cool a lizard

Fun Fact: Tulum was an active Mayan city when the Spaniards came. Once the Spanish conquered the region, Tulum lost its economic reason for existing: trade.

Gorgeous

Paradise. If only every day.

I just came home from there on Wednesday. Odd timing for this post.

One of the most beautiful places I’ve been!

If you swim out and turn around to view the castile, it is one of the best views you will ever have.

I literally took the same picture last year

God’s art

Man I’d love to visit Mexico but I’m afraid of being killed.
