BREAKING:
An undersea fiberoptic cable connecting Latvia and Sweden has been destroyed.
Foul play is suspected and 2 vessels are viewed as potential culprits.
A large NATO operation has been launched in the Baltic Sea today
They learned that no one will do anything to stop it anyway.

Destroying this type of infrastructure should be considered an act of war and they need to blow those ships out of the water.

Close the Danish Strait for Russian shadow fleet. Problem solved.

The absolutely slow and basically nonexistent response has become the biggest issue with EU and NATO.
Russia, China and now Trump’s USA understand it well and basically move to do what they want on the international scene.
EU has to send the message that we are not an union you want to fuck around with anymore. If all of the power blocks in the World just piss on the rule of inyernational law we can’t just stand there and watch.

Honestly by now they should just fire that torpedo. As Russia pretends it’s not their ships, they can hardly complain about it going up in smoke.

If there are accidents with those cables maybe there should be accidents happening to ships travelling over them around that time? Just saying…

I don’t understand what Russia’s plan is here. This hardly damages our economy but pisses off people to an extent where additional aid to Ukraine will be easier to sell to the voters.

When are we going to recognize, that we (the nordic countries) are at war with Russia. Stop turning the blind eye, destroy every Russian vessel we see in the baltics. Please and thank you.

Sorry, but at some point we have to start sinking these vessels. We know who they are and their intent, it’s a mistake to let it continue.

I know we can’t stop all non-EU ships, especially since we rely on this ourselves e.g. between Taiwan and China. And that we can’t have frigates shadow every foreign ship.
Would it instead be possible to enforce __narrow__ shipping corridors that would make it easier to have our own military vessels guard near undersea infrastructure?

How long will we let Russia and China do this shit before we ban them from those waters?
Russia is testing how far it can go until NATO starts doing something. They won’t stop and it won’t get better if we just ignore it and hope that they will come to their senses. In their eyes, they are already at war with Europe and our leaders (or at least most of our leaders) need to wake up and start doing something.
I sincerely hope that they are already doing something in secret and that perparations are going on and that our leaders are just pretending do be dumb and ignorant as hell to trap Russia in some mastermind 4D chess move but I doubt it.

Maybe we should just annexe Kaliningrad and St Petersburg so that they don’t have access to the Baltic any more.

Does anybody know where the critical internet cables used by Russia are? These should have been snapped in half a long time ago.
