Fun fact, America was going to switch to the metric system a couple hundred years ago, but the ships carrying the metric weights got hijacked by pirates, and after that we were basically like “fuck it we ball” wnd used Imperial instead

This is an oversimplification. Can’t speak for the other two, but here in the States we use both US Customary and Metric.

US customary units have been officially defined by the metric system since theย Mendenhall Order in 1893. Your country is already metric.

Its kinda a weird thing this map. There are places that use both, canada for example uses whatever makes the most sense for what they are doing.
Outside temps that feel specific for the body? Thats metric
Temps in a machine that you need more specific numbers for? Thats gonna be imperial.
Want some liquid for baking, get out your imperial measurements, need a large amount, time to swap to metric. Once you go really big but its okay to be vague, then you go back to Imperial.
Distances/measurement flip flop as well.
A 2 measurement system based off need is peak and should be adopted

Personally I feel like both have uses in certain scenarios. For example for heat for water Celsius is better but for heat in humans (such as weather outside) fahrenheit is usually a better descriptor as it is tuned to the human body and not water.

I am so sick of this argument. I agree the metric system is great, but what if we run out of it? We need a standby system!

Fun fact, 99% of those same countries that use metric would still rather use the imperial system for height and weight measurements

UK only half uses metric, the rest of their measurements are equal in abomination to the ones the US uses.

Come together as a species! We’ll learn the metric system and you’ll all learn English and together we’ll unite and thrive under a uninversal language and mathmatic system! Muwhahaha!
