Is it still 1 in 3 if you take into account the size of medical bill campaigns?
I saw the video of the guy saving some kids in the structure fire and was…where is his go fund me? He was burnt up. Heros should not pay medical bills while saving children. Maybe he is well insured. ‘merica The sad part was it was the first thing to go through my head.

It is the year 2025. The exasperated public from around the world begins GoFundMe for CEO assassinations around the world for the most corrupt companies around the world.
Edit: around the world

Imagine your Gofundme page hitting $30k and then they decide to keep the money because the CEO doesn’t like what you’re spending it on.

Can we add the TT Creator fund to this? I see parents with babies in the NICU going LIVE to get $$ because of the hundreds of thousands of dollars that are NOT being covered and/or the at home care that is needed that the insurance companies won’t pay for. It’s heart breaking, that we in the US have to crowd source via social media pleas for help just to get life saving care. In the US 66% of the bankruptcies files are for medical debt.

It’s weird how paying taxes for a cheaper and better single payer healthcare system is evil socialism, but paying double that into an expensive “healthcare” system with middlemen (the insurance companies) who mismanage and pocket funds before it goes to the providers is goals.

The list of things that are broken as the US downgrades to 3rd world levels of corruption…
Deparment of Justice
FCC
Public education
FBI and law enforcement
The federal court system all the way to The Supreme Court
The entire Legislative Branch
The entire 4th estate

Cancel your insurance and start saving that money. Demand that your employer pay you the difference in your wages now that they don’t have to pay the premium for you. Strike if they deny you.
The amount of money insurance takes from us is a scam. It is literally taking money from sick people and provides no benefit to society.
Its time to stop to just stop using it. It will go away on its own…

I heard an interview of the CEO of gofund me. He said he grappled with not Allowing medical posts on his platform because it’s not what it was supposed to be for. It was intended for like start ups. Then he mentioned quickly that he didn’t want to make profit off people needing medical care but if he turned it off now people wouldn’t get the help they needed and he wouldn’t make enough to keep it afloat. I don’t know the dude or if he is a good guy or not but he did mention it which is something. I couldn’t find the video but here’s an article.
The original concept of insurance was to pay a small amount into a large risk pool so that when someone needed it, they could use the funds for their medical expenses. The problem is that now the risk pools are smaller and a significant amount of what is paid into insurance goes toward corporate profit. In theory, something like GFM could serve as a means to recreate what insurance was originally made for. If only there was a non-profit insurance company that we could select.

Growing up in USA we are so used to seeing charity collections at retail stores for children’s cancer treatment… It’s very normalized. There’s even commercials to donate and treat the children so they don’t just die.. Even conservative churches collect these donations. Being an adult now I totally realize how absolutely fucked up that is for such a wealthy nation to even need charities in the first place for such a thing.

Americans would rather get their healthcare from the graciousness of other people, than by billionaires being taxed fairly and everyone paying into a universal system. Americans are very dumb.

I get the idea of this tweet but I hate that it’s incorrect. GoFundMe isn’t “insurance” since it doesn’t insure anything, it’s straight up asking for money. Insurance includes of pool of insured, not a single individual, making it more stable.
Anyway, my point is that GoFundMe is significantly more dire than “insurance”, and the lack of society insuring us as people at all is the whole issue.

Technically, it’s a better system.
* GoFundMe doesn’t choose what medical care you’re allowed to get.
* Whether you get care via GoFundMe or not depends on whether other people think you are a good person, which is a better metric than how good your job is.
* GoFundMe probably takes a smaller cut than medical insurers.
A popularity contest where if you lose, you die.
AND!!!! It’s success is basically derived from those with a little extra giving to those who don’t almost like a, wait for it………. Tax funded government health care plan.

Kinda like a “single-payer” healthcare system that the civilized world uses. Only with extra steps. And just plain shittier.
BURN THIS SYSTEM DOWN
Weird how that is not considered socialism.
The system isn’t broken. It’s working exactly like it was designed to. The system works just fine and THAT’S the problem.
I’m pretty sure College humor did a sketch about this.
