The authoritarian and fascist rhetoric coming out of this administration is so cartoonishly on the nose that if it were TV dialogue, viewers would be complaining that it was unrealistic.
When he took over the Kennedy Center, he wrote that they didn’t share “Our Vision for a Golden Age in Arts and Culture”. It sounds like something lifted right out of a Goebbels biography. It’s comical and insulting, the idea that this sloppy, dimwitted, uncultured moron cozying up with the dregs of society, real luminaries of the arts like Kid Rock and Ted Nugent, is supposed to be some kind of enlightened, thoughtful adjudicator of the arts.
Just a reminder that every single major authoritarian figure in modern history has sought to coopt art and culture to legitimize their regimes, suppress dissent, and further their agendas.
We’re living in a circus and he is the ringleader.

I’m not advocating for violence. I’m just asking the type of question you should ask before making a statement like this when more than half the country considers you a threat to democracy.
