Has it ever happened that you arrived and the bank stole all your money? No. But it did happen many times that customers stole all the pens.
Because if they betray trust of one then they lose more than one client
They are paid to keep your money safe(?), you are not paid to not steal their pens
They are chained because they used to trust us and the pens always went missing. About 1 in 5 people take the pen, unintentionally or not, when a bank sees a few hundred to a few thousand customers a day that adds up a lot.
