I have heard him now called The Great Once. And has been awarded the Order of Canada but apparently cannot even be bothered to pick it up. He is a token Canadian at this point in name only and even that is too good for him. I am in my 50’s, grew up in Alberta, and remember watching him as a teenager with my father when the Edmonton Oilers were in their prime in the 1980’s. Dad would be rolling in his grave.
For those of you who are not Canadian, up here hockey almost is like part of our cultural identity, so this feels even more traiterous. Piss off Wayne…
