Charles wanted to swap, Carlos to pit.

Ferrari decided instead to choose drama.

Reminds me of the Alphamaxnova meme where Leclerc screams at Vettel to let him past (Russia and Brazil), but then adds “please” at the end.

OP missed off Fred going “Charles. CHARLES.” in response which is the funniest bit haha

He’s super pissed. Managed to find a video of it on twitter [here. ](https://twitter.com/Cl16__FanpageFr/status/1860588126726509026?t=KyjKHq70ZatEBLN5zyNpvg&s=19)

i’ve been waiting for him to unleash omg

if charles is speaking this publicly. ooof. i dont think i have ever heard him this mad.

Charles villain arc will not bore fans

That’s like 4 fines! Careful Charles

This will be mega spicy when Lewis is around next year lmao

“Maybe try in Spanish” was his best radio message today. He had enough of Carlos.

lol such a dumb comment, could have easily all been avoided if Ferrari had Carlos pit and not keep him out cause they “weren’t ready”

carlos is not gonna be a team player now. he’s on the way out he’s gonna prove himself as much as possible

Love the honesty always from Leclerc.

I wonder what their relation would be like if their pit wall didn’t screw them both over time after time.

Why hasn’t Sainz received a penalty for the pit line thing?

for contenxt he told the team he would let sainz pass in the 1st stint when his tyres died then asked to boxed, 2nd stint he was much faster but sainz kept defending after being told multiple times to swap. then after charles boxed sainz was told to not overtake which of course he didnt listen

Charles has every right to rage. However it makes absolutely no sense for Carlos to be a team player at this point. Not to mention it was projected that if Ferrari had listened to Carlos about pitting earlier, he would have gotten P2 instead of P3. I would have chosen to drive for myself too.

I’m not sure Ferrari can kick Sainz out and then expect him to not put himself first. They can’t have it both ways.

hot take but Sainz got fired, and replaced with Hamilton next season. While hes getting demoted to Williams, why the fuck should he care what Ferrari wants at this point?

Let the darkness consume you, Sharl.

I feel like this is very Simple:

Charles cooked his tyres in the first stint, Carlos was allowed to pass, but tbh it doesnt matter as he would’ve over taken Charles when he pitted and by letting him pass neither of them lose time by defending or attacking for no reason.

Later on Carlos wanted to pit and had been asking to pit for 2~3 laps but the team denied it for some reason, the team then asked him to let charles past despite the danger of Lewis, and the fact that he wanted to pit, eventually he lets the pass happen, then the Stupid pit scenario took place. (no idea how there was no penalty)

Carlos now has warm tyres and a potential for a 5s penalty, so when Charles comes out of the pit, why would he stay behind Charles? Charles still needs a lap to warm up the tyres and Carlos might have a penalty, the team and him had more to lose if they made him stay behind so it makes more sense to let him bomb it down the road and catch max.

Carlos Overtakes max, I think expecting him to get past max and pull a 1s gap quickly without comprising his own tyres is very very optimistic, besides both Ferraris had better tyres than max at this point so they were both eventually going to get past him.

The entire situation would have been avoided if they had boxed Carlos when he had asked, in fact he could’ve been close to 2nd according to the simulation (debatable). At the end of the day this was probably close to one of the best outcomes for Ferrari so the team was not effected in the title fight.

This is my objective view on this.

Charles listens to team orders every single time, obviously he’s going to be pissed when his teammate doesn’t. I don’t understand why people feel like this isn’t a justified reaction

Okay, as someone who loves both of them, I’m trying not to be biased.

I don’t think Sainz was wrong for overtaking at the pit exit. The SF-24 needs a few laps to warm up the hards and it would’ve slowed them both down.

That being said, Sainz was saving too much pace with Verstappen behind him. Maybe because he wanted to push at the end to save himself from a potential penalty? He said he didn’t have more pace but he definitely did. It was just stupid to give Verstappen DRS for so many laps.

In the end, I think both drivers suffered due to Ferrari here. The communication between the team and drivers was abhorrent. I know they’ll be mad at each other, but they need to redirect their anger to the team for letting them both down.

I want to also say that both Leclerc and Sainz let each other through at different times, so for the first part of the race they *were* being team players. However I think so many poorly communicated radios from Ferrari frustrated them both and made them lose their cool.

[Edit] I also find it really dumb how everyone on here complains when one of them is too passive and doesn’t fight enough. We get comments like “he should assert himself,” now we have them doing that and people hate on them both. Ffs they’re both allowed to be upset and want the best result for themselves, it’s part of being competitive.

Also because there’s so much misinformation in this thread, Sainz was faster on the mediums and Leclerc was faster on the hards. It’s not as black and white as one driver was faster than the other.

Leclerc is a darling of the f1 fan base and you’ll never accept this

But sainz is already out of the team and gains nothing by playing fair to Charles

Almost any other driver and you lot would understand

Suddenly no one understands why Carlos would drive for himself and get a podium when he’s leaving for a team with a shitty car in 2 races lmao any other driver (minus a few, I guess) would be praised for this

They swapped positions earlier, they f-ed Sainz with the pit stop, I don’t think he was too eager to please the team

Community service.

I also understand why Carlos would be like fuck this team I’ll do what I want. Of course that’s frustrating for Charles but if he was being thrown on the scrap heap in less than a month don’t think he’d be showing any loyalty either.

Guy is out in 2 races, why would he play the team game?

Me waking up two hours after the race being completely out of the loop and wondering what the fuck happened

Ferrari is ditching Sainz and they fucked up his strategy, they can’t expect him to lose +3secs behind Charles until he warms up his tires.

Charles has no fault in all this though so his anger is completely understandable

I’m looking forward to next year at Ferrari.

Hamilton will try to exploit this ‘niceness’ to the maximum and it will end in drama, especially if the title is on the line and Hamilton adds his known methods of psychological warfare.

Remember the Hamilton vs Rosberg rivalry, it won’t be pretty.

Boy, cant wait for next season drama at Ferrari, on the tracks and on the forums

Charles about to be fined to oblivion lmao

Oof, if Leclerc has enough, it does say something

Lmao they sacked Sainz, why would he play the perfect teammate? Also he let Leclerc past and perfectly blocked Hamilton who was on the chase for Leclerc. I think he did his job.

Honestly Sainz was just better today.

They asked Sainz to not overtake Charles when he comes out of the pit, but seriously how braindead is that.. There’s no way he’s not getting a penalty for the pitlane line crossing scenario. So instead you let him overtake Charles. Drive off into the distance as far as he can to increase the gap for when his time penalty comes in.
Holding him behind a driver on completely fresh and cold tyres when he’s already warmed up is absolutely asinine.
If the time comes when Charles can safely overtake, risk free, when his tyres are hotter, later, then do it. Turns out.. that didn’t even happen and Sainz went on to hold the position.
What is the hold up with the pitlane line penalty though? Has it even been investigated?
Regardless, i’m personally with Sainz – He took the opportunity to push on ahead, probably thinking a penalty was incoming. He’s making better calls than the pitwall.

For what reason does Carlos have to be a good teammate. The team obviously don’t care about him by signing Lewis

He’s going to Williams so is going to want all the podiums he can

What are you talking about? He was in the fight, why should he concede his position or stop attacking?
