People will call this communism somehow like it wasn’t what made America great in the mid century. Workers didn’t take no for an answer back then and it was our most prosperous era.

This happened on Little House on the Prairie once (sans nooses), which allowed Paw to keep the farm. I had no idea it was based on something real.

Bank uses a substitute trustee to bid a minimum amount to avoid this nowadays. Then they just list and sell it as bank owned.

I know this is random, but when our local mall went into foreclosure the winning bid was only $100,000. Apparently only one guy showed up to the bankruptcy auction.

There are pros and cons to this kind of community bond.
It’s easy to say this is “back when people cared about each other” but if you were an outsider (race/religion/etc) trying to move into this town or start a farm or even just keep your farm in the area I doubt you would see the same support.
Just look at how black farmers and land owners were squeezed out all over the country.
Communities like this protect “their own” and if you aren’t one of “them” then you are shit out of luck.

BTW, the same techniques and threats of lynchings were also done to prevent any ‘other races’ from moving into the community,

The banks solved this by sending their own bidders or setting minimum bids.

This is what they’re afraid of happening here. We can stand together. Hopefully it doesn’t have to go full revolution to get there. Facebook just got rid of DEI these companies don’t care about values or principles they just flip flop to appeal to the narrative the media creates to make everyone think change is happening. We are being fleeced.

This happened all over the country during the Great Depression. You wouldn’t bid against the owner because of the *consequences*.

Here’s the part people don’t like to talk about:
The nooses were effective because they actually got used. Basic human decency was enforced with violence, otherwise greed would continue to win out.
That is what liberalism wants to forget.

The movement turned violent and lost much support when they abducted an unfortunate Iowa judge and threw a rope around his neck and threatened to hang him unless he stopped foreclosing on farms. Authorities intervened before the threat was carried out.

Sadly this cant happen anymore cause extremists will label their fellow citizens as subhumans if they voted Trump or Harris or are Sanders fans or Musk fans or whatever bullshit reason.
