it’s also likely that humans had interbread with Neanderthals (hence them being a subspecies) and inherited some of their traits like the higher bone density and bigger brains

Isn’t that the reason why they’re not here actually? They needed a lot more food because they were bigger and had bigger brains and once the ice age hit they couldn’t get enough.

Survival of the fittest. Neanderthals also couldn’t do things as efficiently as Homo Sapiens. We were better hunters and gatherers, and we were better at adapting.

Heidelbergensis also was believed to have larger brains (More cubic centimeters) however it was my understanding they had less organization of lobes/folds thus creating a less efficient brain. Bone density in Neanderthal is attributed to environmental factors such as predators, hunting and gathering, cold climate. I believe the cold is primary factor givenย **Allen’s Rule**. Its suggested that Neanderthal branch from Erectus in Africa and were much shorter compared.

Actual answer: Neanderthals had bigger brains, but their frontal lobes, particularly the parts associated with social behavior, were much smaller. As a result, Neanderthals typically formed tribes of no more than a dozen, while Sapien tribes were in the hundreds, giving us a massive advantage.

A bigger brain does not equate to a higher intelligence though

Those statements are bullshit right???
….right???
Like, they were a very very close relative to sapiens, and ancestors to quite a few Eurasians due to a bit of hanky panky but….
