It will always be Black History month as long as we put in the work to keep it alive.
I say let em have February, then we take a full ass month while they’re not looking. 31 days. In the summer, preferably. Let’s steal May.
They can’t take what we don’t give them. We can still celebrate all we want. Just because they say it shouldn’t be recognized doesn’t mean it can’t be. Never comply in advance.
Just so y’all know, black history month is still alive in Canada. Everybody welcome to celebrate – even if they take it away. Just let me know who bringing what for the kickback.
It took our people generations for us to achieve where we are today, but it will only take 4 years for all of that work to be taken away from us.

They took our history from us once. Let’s not be like all the other fools in this country and allow a very obvious history to repeat itself. All the orange king can do is take away the official federal destination or whatever. So what? Its not like they really teach black history in school anyway. It’s on us to learn, teach, and know our history.
Social media can be a tool, but we’re gonna have to start dealing with one another face to face again. It’s time to get up with strangers and figure shit out and organize. We are not outnumbered. We are out organized.

He has time to do an EO before the beginning of Feb. BHM was first officially recognized by Ford, so it could lose its official recognition, that’s all; and the month will remain BHM no matter what he does.
I genuinely hate these doomer ass posts from other members of the black community. What’s the point? Why do posts like this always go viral instead of posts encouraging the community?

Cultural observances, like Black History Month (Public Law 99-244), are codified by legislation. Unless Congress repeals it or the Supreme Court deems it unconstitutional, it’s here to stay.

I feel like protesting to keep the month while also celebrating the month will be an honor to MLK himself.
I vote we move it to a longer month and declare a Malcom, Medger, and Huey day as well.

I could for sure see Trump doing away with Juneteenth. He’ll probably rename it to something like “Heritage Day” as and extra middle finger to us.
Every day is an opportunity to acknowledge and uplift our history. If they try to take the month, we just amplify our voices louder. We define our narrative, not them. Let’s keep educating and celebrating, no matter what.

Why do folk act like we only learn or teach about black history only in February? If someone can take away black history month, was did it really belong to black people in the first place?

By this time next year, they will find a way to legally revoke 2/5th away from those they couldn’t deport.
And he’ll be able to do it, cause it would be within his presidential duties…all while having a tantrum that he’s not racist and in fact it’s BIPOC professionals that are “nasty”, “rude”, “trouble just by looking at them” for daring to point out the tange-reality.

Black history month is big business. For better or worse, it will still be around for schilling and pandering. Even if it’s not a government-backed concept and banned from schools.
Everyday is black history. No one can take that away. There is no us history without black history
