They did though. They voted for Project 2025 which aims to cut funding for universities, eventually eliminating them altogether, so that folks can get a free high quality patriotic education at the American Academy.

About 32% of eligible voters voted for Trump. 32% is not a fucking mandate. We should not allow the fever dreams of less than a third of the country to decide shit.

The interview setup is chaos. Trump hunched over a desk. Musk, wearing a hat in the oval office like he has no manners, his kid randomly hanging out. They are being asked serious questions about accessing private data and cutting needed, which deserves more decorum. Do these people not have a conference area with a table?
