I’ve had those a couple of times before. Mine didn’t make me tear but got long enough to really irritate my eye. Always felt like a tickle in my eye and I was constantly rubbing it until I figured out it was an opposite-growing lash.
Haven’t had one for quite a while. I’m probably due.

This reminds me of when i constantly had the feeling of there being something in my eyes, every single day for years on end. I was rinsing my eyes out with water in hopes to get “it” out of my eyes, always pulling my eyelids up to see if something was there,.. The feeling drove me crazy.
Until i found out i actually just had “dry eyes”, wich was caused by me going over my eyes with my facewash everyday. I stopped doing that and never felt like there was something in my eyes again.

It didn’t just fall out on its own in seven years? Not to mention that just looks like an eyelash that has only existed for a month
Not calling you a liar, i’m just kinda confused about this

Yeah eyelashes do that occasionally. the best solution is to just get a friend with good eyes and steady hands to pluck it out with a pair of Flathead tweezers

Had something to this last month. Eye became very red and irritated and felt like something was in it. No amount of rubbing or flushing solved it. Broke down and went to an eye doctor and had two of these fuckers. He plucked them in seconds and I immediately felt relief. Cost me over $160 for literally 20 seconds of work.

Had the same problem. 2 optometrists and an ophthalmologist somehow failed to notice the problem. Fortunately, the 4th doctor I saw was competent and noticed the problem pretty much immediately.

I know that frustrating feeling – mine was dehydration. It always happened after drinking the previous night and lasted for anything from a few hours to a few days.
Turns out the dehydration from drinking was drying my eyes out, so although my eye was visibly clean, it felt like there was a sharp particle of sand stuck in there.
Drinking before bed and/or hydrating eye drops fixed it overnight.

Oh my gosh! Finally somebody that can relate. I don’t even know how many years it was but my right eye would go crazy itchy. I ended up having a tiny lash in the outside corner of my eye that was growing downwards from my eyelid and would constantly be scratching my eye. Not fun to try to pluck it but the best relief in the world.

I have an eyelash like this that grows down until it touches my eye, I have to pluck it every few months when it gets long enough. I hate it so much. I tried to mention it to an ophthalmologist and they just kind of shrugged and said to pluck it… I was hoping they would offer to permanently remove it or something.

God I had one like that near the inner corner of my eyelid and it grew back fast every time, would always curl right up and into my dang eye. Nonstop irritation & tearing. Just realized I haven’t had issues with it for a while, maybe all the plucking eventually convinced it to change its ways

it seems like an ingrown eyelash hair and there’s a bump there, so it might have been messing with the sensitive nerves in the area causing you to tear up.. you need to revist every eye doctor ask them WTF. and possibly get yoru money back.

I’m sure this is what causes my eyes to water but I can not bear the thought of plucking something from that part of my eye.
I usually get ingrown hairs when I pluck. I shudder thinking about one growing there

Some of mine are so fine that they slip through regular tweezers.

I get these in multiple areas and pluck them about once a month.
Glad you found it and got some relief!
The little eyelash was the culprit?
I’m glad the picture helped
