I’ll never ground my kids for calling me stuff, or giving me uncomfortable truths. I’ve excplicitly told them that “it’s okay to call dad all those things, but not anyone else”. They are going to say them, might as well be to me to get it out of their system.

this past Christmas we were opening presents and my sister in law was asking me when i was going to bring a girl to a holiday (i havent brought a girl to the family in about 8 years at this point). one of my nieces (maybe 6 or 7 years old) says “well hes kinda funny looking so who knows”. i laughed but inside i hurt lol
My son asked my his hair is at his forehead and mine starts higher up. I almost called the adoption agency.
