Sharing a grandchild with Tony Hawk.

As a small town white boy, this was a revelation to me.

I miss the 90’s

Punk as fuck

Just when you thought he needs an easy friend

maga-“Nirvana was great until Cobain went woke” lol

Legend.

Gen X, wtf happened to you guys? How can you look up to this guy and other bands like Rage Against the Machine and then become a bunch of racists homophobic right wingers? You were fighting the patriarchy and then just turned into it

30 years ago it was 1995.

In 1995, “30 years ago” was 1965.

The 90’s today are what the 60’s were to those enjoying the 90’s. Jesus

Based

I know this is a strange thing to say but the position of the microphone and his sunglasses made him look like an alien for a split second

It was on Incesticide liner notes IIRC. He hated when the jocks who used to hate him started coming to the shows, Kurt was a feminist

And that is why we love him

I remember this. What a great soul!

He was a legend.

That’s king shit

Amen. Take your bullshit bigoted thinking elsewhere.

“Last year a girl was r*ped by two wastes of sperm and eggs while they sang the lyrics to our song “Polly.” I have a hard time carrying on knowing there are plankton like that in our audience. Sorry to be so anally P.C. but that’s how I feel.”

The rest of the story. This quote is printed in the liner notes of the b-sides album Incesticide alongside the one shown in this post.

Fuck republicans

Wow….i have worlds more respect for Kurt Cobain. This is just to beautifully and powerfully to the point

Now we make people like these presidents.

It was a different time, a better time…

Damn I miss the 90s

He was also very vocally pro choice.

I think we were warned to not idolize people like him when he was popular, but a message as simple as this seems hard to come by these days. A lot of people are worshipping the wrong idols now.

Back in the days counterculture was inclusive, these days it’s the other way around

I love, and respect that mindset, it feels like something they would say!

Kurt was based beyond belief, shame he dies so young

Now they/he’d be accused of “virtue signaling”.

A man before his time…

King Gizzard had a similar slide and one about being supportive while moshing when I saw them last fall.

Why can’t we get more people like this?

R.I.P Kurt Cobain

I was a young teen. This was wild. Young straight boys were shocked and didn’t know what to think. Was Nirvana gay? It was a a revolution for sure. Kurt could be nice to gay people. They had to understand it. It made more of an impact than people realize to the xennial among us, the young Gen X. It does hurt a bit to be old school now though. RIP Kurt.

“If you are lucky, we’ll play your city, and you can come see me, if you got the money”

This quote reminded me of my favorite Violent Femmes song.

Only the good die young.

This guy sounds pretty cool, I sure hope nothing bad happens to him.

what interview is this from?

Aberdeen Washington

Had some good music but never bought any of their albums

Whoa, 1992 was the best year ever! I had just gotten my first CD player and was obsessed with Cobain and Pearl Jam. Anyone else remember watching MTV actually play music videos all day?

When I was scrolling past this is thought his sunglasses were his eyes and this was a photo of an alien

“mean people suck”

__joke__

#If i wanted my own comeback, I’d get it off your mother’s chin.

“He was a good aim” Dave Mustaine

This man was In Bloom.

Incredibly prolific and brave. This guy was also a heroin addict who blew his brains out. Again, incredibly talented and brave.

Cool

Seems to have his shit together. How’s he doing now?
