We’re slowly creeping closer to seeing the world’s first trillionaires emerge. That used to be an image that only existed in dystopian sci-fi novels.

Why do people need this much money? I understand capitalism but it’s like the end of a monopoly game when one person has all the money and properties. You can’t play the game anymore because there is nothing left to do.
Even Rockefeller would probably think this is a little fucked up
And at least three of them have met privately with Donald Trump within the last two weeks.
You literally cannot have wealth like that without mass exploitation and government handouts.
And they wont even do anything to help society with their wealth. Fuck em all. Eat their bones.
It’s also worth noting that Musk, in particular, is *obsessed* with becoming the world’s first trillionaire.
Things are going to get much, much worse for us.
In order to tax billionaires, you first need to vote for people who want to tax billionaires. That certainly isn’t the Trump administration. Sorry Americans, maybe you can come to your senses by next election cycle, if there is one.
You know in Lord of the Rings when the dragon is in the huge room laying on a massive pile of money….a single coin in the pile represents what most Americans possess. Musk, Bezos, Ellison, and Zuck each have more than that pile in the room EACH and are afraid of paying taxes. They would spend hundreds of millions of dollars to get someone like Trump elected just to ensure their greed pile grows even larger. Each of them could lose $50 billion net worth overnight and it wouldn’t change their lives at all. Each of them makes more money per day than any of us will make in a year, and in some cases, in our entire lifetimes and the country went out on voting day and made sure their dragon piles are protected at least for four more years.

With one trillion dollars, if you spent $1 million every day, and made no more money, just the original trillion, you wouldn’t run out of money until sometime in the year 4764.
We’d have to fundamentally change our tax system in order to tax them. Taxing income doesn’t work when most of their wealth is in stock ownership and not paid out as income.
What might help is to not allow them to borrow against any shares of their companies that they didn’t purchase with after tax income. That way if they want access to those billions they’d have to sell and have an income taxable event.

I used to just ignore posts like these. I didn’t care.
Now, when I see posts like this it’s hard to not completely break down and sob. $5k would literally change my life for so much better and help me get away from pretty crappy situation.
That’s like… Pocket change to them.
I just want to be happy, not in anymore pain, and going through therapy. Not skipping days of eating so I can pay for everything else.

It’s not even about “let people be successful”. This fuckers gain POLITICAL and psychological power over people with this money, they stand almost completely above the law. This power shouldn’t fucking exist. Yes, okay, you have your nice rockets and good cars, your tech-empire and fancy online shop – but thats where it should end and It makes my blood boil that people do not understand the issue here. Those people gain political power through money alone. And it’s sickening and absolutely worrisome.
