This is an example of slow cinema.

Gus Van Sant’s excellent retelling of the Columbine shootings. He has imaginatively shot the ordinary events of that extraordinary day from the perspective of different characters involved in the tragedy. The viewer, of course, is granted the perspective of dramatic irony, knowing how the story’s strands will come together in its bloody climax. With regard to the comment about the movie blaming homosexuality, this hardly seems like since Gus van Sant is openiy gay and is considered a major contributor to modern gay cinema. He was awarded the Palm D’or in France for this movie

I really hated this movie when it came out.
Really seemed like it blames video games and homosexuality to me, yuck.
