Here’s the thing. I think a lot of them know he’s that awful. They don’t care because they are awful too. It’s a permission structure.
I know someone who knows him firsthand (worked closely with him and his family) and he feels much the same. Nothing redeeming.
Mary has been extremely critical of her uncle for years. She cannot stand the man and has seen first hand how awful of a person he is.
Jeffrey Epstein said this man has no moral compass… Lol Epstein.
This is how his cult sees her: she’s lying. She just wants money. She just wants to be famous like her uncle. She’s just trying to sell books. She’s just jealous. She’s just a dyke. She’s just a cat lady (she actually has a daughter but I doubt they know that).
They will say these things in their own echo chambers. And when they can’t push any of those narratives anymore, for whatever reason, they always end with this conclusion:
She’s just an elite. She doesn’t know us. Not like her uncle does. (When they call someone an elite, they don’t mean money. They mean education. She’s had a lot of education. To them, that means she’s been indoctrinated and therefore has no sense of reality. Which is ironic because Donald went to UPenn as well as the Wharton School of Finance. He brags about it all the time. But because he talks like they do he’s not considered an elite. It’s dumb and it makes no sense).
This is a legitimate cult. There is no way to get through to them. We have no movie type device that has a massive deprogramming reach via the tv or something. We are screwed.
Many of his supporters find this to be a positive trait.
The morality argument is a losing one because his supporters straight up don’t care. These are people who believe it’s perfectly acceptable to harass, troll, and bully other people, while unironically calling themselves Christians. They are awful, morally bankrupt hypocrites, just like the deranged orange man they worship.

To be fair have you seen what Donnie tried to do to his older brothers kids (including Mary trump) when the patriarch of the family passed away
I mean as much as I agree with her, family hating each other doesn’t have much weight. However I feel like his own Secretary or Defense General Mattis resigning and telling us that it was exclusively because of Trump’s lack of leadership should have been enough for everyone. I was wrong apparently.
She’s wrong… Trump has less redeeming qualities than “zero”.
I have to disagree with Dr. Mary Trump on this one. Her uncle, Donald Trump, has single handily caused more lawyers to be disbarred and sent to prison than any other single person in American history. That’s not all bad.

I wish her well. She should’ve try to seek asylum elsewhere.
The book she wrote about her Dad was really good and Trump was a little liar from the very start. I feel bad for Fred Trump Jr, he had no chance between his psychopath parents and his brothers.
Would being an organ donor count as one? But then again… bleeck.

His redeeming quality is his poor health.

That’s the impression I always got from him. If nothing else, someone with any redeeming qualities would be more likely to at least *pretend* to not be like a terrible person.
i can say he is a great salesman, he is able to dupe / convince 1/2 the country
His nephew said the same when Trump basically told his nephew that his nephew’s his disabled son would be better off dead than continue his treatment cause it’s a waste of money
I’ve been reading “Frankly, We Did Win This Election” and was actually kind of shocked to learn that he was genuinely upset about what happened to George Floyd. More empathy than his supporters even. So maybe that’s something? But then all of that was thrown out the window when the rioting started lol.
He really is a terrible person though.
Convicted Felon Trump does have one redeeming quality: he is old and in extremely poor health, so he probably will not live much longer.
He’s a literal waste of existence.
The world will be inarguably better once he is no longer in it, whenever that may be.
Everyone should read her book. It explains a lot.

Trump is such a mirror of the version of America many have refused still exists even though folks have been screaming it for ages, at home and abroad. He’s that uncle everyone acts like they don’t have in their family until it becomes the brother, the husband, and the son and you can no longer look away. Certain groups in this country have refused to look at their ugly side as long as it was terrorizing others, and now have to stare it in the face.
Trump once said “the only good thing about me is i have never had alcohol”
Let’s be fair, he does have one redeeming quality: his body is made of lipids and proteins which could be valuable as fertilizer or animal feed

I’d say his one redeeming (read – the only thing im willing to give him credit for) quality is being able to sell ANYTHING.
He was literally able to sell this country to the highest bidder (Elon Musk). And people fell for his scam.

I am grateful to Mary Trump for the profound and very accurate manner in which she has exposed her evil uncle and have no doubt that her efforts have been the right thing to do, but the cult does not care. She is preaching to the choir.
