Totally counts. Saturday afternoon at Costco is basically the club these days.

Grocery store runs exhaust me.

…does that not count? I’m not in a relationship, so I never do errands without making a stop somewhere fun for me.

Hmm kind of the opposite for me. Iโ€™m at a place where going out to socialize sometimes feels like an errand.

Where grocery shopping is right up there with a visit the department store..

Facts. Especially when you gotta decide how badly you need something.

Yeah but itโ€™s so draining. This is why we need a 4-day workweek so one day during the weekend can be dedicated to errands and chores, another for fun, and one for rot and scroll in bed all day lol

Supermarket shopping – it like 1-4 hour errand for me due to walking /bus ride distance of whatever supermarket is cheaper /have what I need or want. Aldi & Shoprite are like 2 miles away walking and most the affordable to me while Target & H-Mart are bus ride of like 30-45 minutes one way, finally C-Town & Keyfood are 5 minute walk but super expensive.

So yeah, I make it outing – get some KFC/Starbucks/ Dunkin Donuts/ Popeyes/Cafe y pan from the Dominican bakery/Paris Baguette or 7-11 if hungry out there and enjoy. My weekly fun that doesn’t involve going to work, lol.

Oof this one cuts deep. But honestly I feel accomplished and it justifies relaxing the rest of the day

Grocery shopping at Costco is date night

And I be looking cute af cause Iโ€™m not going nowhere else lol

(Legit got dolled up to drive to the dispensary, flirt for 2.5 seconds with the cutie I be lowkey crushing, and get hella blasted & go home.)

Life is good ๐Ÿ˜Ž (future voice).

going to the bank and grocery store is 100% “going out” for me. going to walmart requires at least a day to decompress.

Been so since I started high school tbh…

I’m there too. This week my social life consisted of trips to the grocery store, a restaurant (for take-out only) and the big one … a funeral. I sometimes go to Costco, but actually have to psych myself up for dealing with the Costco crowds. If I have a week with nothing on the calendar, I feel like I’ve hit the jackpot! Yay! I can stay home all week without interruptions!

I treat them less like a chore most of the time and more like a walk through the woods, if the woods were a grocery store anyways.

That is until there’s a holiday or a big game coming up and it turns back into a chore again.

Stores are designed to burn you out.

โ€œstartingโ€?

Fuck Iโ€™m old.

*realizes he has been old for quite some time nowโ€ฆ*

I run errands every Saturday morning, early. Like 7:00am early. Thank COVID for that.
By now, I know the folks working that shift and they know me.
We exchange pleasantries, and maybe banter some. That’s my social interaction for the week.
Simple is good.

People go out for reasons other than errands?

Ah you must be about 28 then?

Omg I feel this in my soul…ever since my daughter was born, it became even more apparent lol

Same!!

Omg I feel this so much…

Ive become ma dad

Nah fr

My errands take me about 4 hours every saturday and i call it my unpaid half day

Yes

Sounds about right

Oh yeah.. this got serious for me during and after the pandemic.

True

My gf and I call it Costco date. We sample food, chill on furniture, people watch all while saving on toilet paper.

Went through this myself. You need, NEED, to make time for yourself. Visit a friend for coffee, have a little spot where you burn an hour reading, drawing, getting lost in music. Any little thing you can do to feel like yourself. If you donโ€™t have an hour, see if you can make time for one, I guarantee if you take the axe to some of the time spend on social media at least 1 hour will appear.

Kids. Having kids makes this both real and hardcore at the same time
