Eyes Without a Face (1960) [720p] Cult horror, French with English subtitles

As a 10 year old, I was on pins and needles all week until my neighborhood grindhouse theater opened its advertised feature film, “The Horror Chamber of Dr. Faustus.” Aside from the movie’s title, its coming attractions had excited all the preteen horror addicts like my self who had attended the prior week’s monster fest. Unfortunately, the full movie proved to be less than a hit for my pack of juvenile horror junkies and me. Our consensus was that it was no where as good as “The Blob” or last year’s “House on Haunted Hill.” Anyway, fast forward 8 years or so: it’s Friday night and my date and I are at our college’s foreign film show of the week: “Eyes Without a Face” by the noted film auteur Franju. As the movie slowly unrolls, I am struck by a strange sense of deja vu. Suddenly I find myself screaming, “Eyes without a Face” my ass; this is “The Horror Chamber of Dr. Fautus.”
