The word exists in german too. It’s: “defenestrieren”
“Aus dem Fenster springen” means to “jump out a window”
Defenestrate means “To throw someone out the window”
The fact that English has a word for throwing someone out the window but not for the day after tomorrow baffles me
Is more french than english 🙂

I think most countrys have words that are unique for themselfs, example, in Portugal, there is a word “Saudade” that translated would be something like “the feeling (sadness) of missing someone” (or something)
Simple application “Tenho Saudades de comer queijo”, translated would be “I got saudades of eating cheese” and would mean something like, “I got the feel that im missing eating cheese”. Not the best translation but it makes sense.
I mean, English took it from French. Since when English uses fenêtre instead of window? If English really wanted to brag, it should have invented its own “unwindow” or something
