This is what Maxwell said afterward: “We just walked out of the state of the Union. My shirt showed Trump an important message: NO KINGS LIVE HERE. In the spirit of student protestors from the Civil Rights Movement, I’m proud to have protested and walked out with many of my colleagues. This is NOT a normal time.”

Great. Now next time, don’t let it be a silent protest. Al Green *actually* made his voice heard and not a single Dem did anything when he got removed. “Walking out”, wearing provocative shirts, holding up coordinated signs. It’s all meaningless. Stand up for your fucking Republic. It’s being dismantled before your eyes. Ordering a shirt on Temu ain’t gonna cut it.
Glad to see Congress is full of silent pussies that take to social media to bitch, but when given the chance they don’t want to do it publicly in front of their peers to make their opinions heard. Its all fucking posturing and they’re allowing this garbage to continue.
Would have been useful if they made such a fuss when they passed the inflation reduction act. Dems in this day are the most useless group of politics we’ve ever seen.
I don’t understand why they don’t just call him out to his face. Walking out is the most convenient thing you could possibly do for this administration. Simply excusing yourself is no longer a valid protest. You need to call him a fascist out loud, to his face, on camera. Disrupt. When they are escorted out, the next dem representative needs to stand up and cause a disruption. When they are removed, the next needs to stand up and take their place. Make a scene. Cause a disturbance. Stop sitting there pitifully while he lies to our faces and to the world. These signs and t-shirts accomplish absolutely nothing besides making the people wielding them feel better about themselves.
No wonder we lost the election.
I bought a skateboard the other day after over a decade of not skating. I was planning on using it as an excuse to get out of the house and get grounded again, cause I saw myself glued to the constant dump of stupidity unfolding over the past year.
Randomly ran into Frost at a bookstore I skated to afterwards, and he is such a cool dude. Didn’t talk much about politics till the end, he was just asking me about my skateboard. Lmao.

It’s unnerving that the dems held little signs and sat there looking bewildered while the MAGA cult members clapped and jeered. He won’t allow free speech – if he can’t bully them into silence, he uses force to remove. We are in very dark times here. No one is standing up and that’s what he wants.
