The only way to beat Russia is to grind them down till they have no money left or somone internally takes over. Can only do that by continuing support for Ukraine.

After two hours of talking to a remorseless child killer I think most people would be like this.
The problem with talking to Putin is he thinks he can win, so there’s no way of seriously bringing him to the table. I get that you have to keep lines of communication open, but everyone who speaks to him is going to come away feeling like this.
Sorry, Macron. Putin is an evil bastard and someone is going to have to confront him sooner or later. Maybe it’s you. Maybe it’s someone else. But the hope that Russia is somehow going to be talked out of their ambitions is foolishness. There is nothing but a full-scale war with the expulsion of Russian military from Ukraine that will change this trajectory. And yes, we have to risk WW3. Because the other option is to lay down and take it.

Reading some the comments, yeah it’s probably a choreographed picture. Honestly I don’t care if it is or not.
But the work that Macron has put in to help ukraine is amazing both financially and military. Even at that start of the war, he offered Zelensky a way out incase he got killed in the early stages, there was worry from the world that we could of lost, as we know now, a courageous leader willing to stand by his people in the face on a dictator. He cares and wants Ukraine to win.
I’m not saying other leaders / countries haven’t done as much but they have and sometimes or even more. But this is just the work of 1 countries leader. Amost every country in Europe has put in the effort, support and gave so much to help Ukriane to the very best we can without putting troops on ground, planes in the sky and tanks on ground with our crews.
Now, am not French, I’m in the UK, but so far UK, France, Germany, Poland and the rest of Europe have done great work to keep Ukraine supplied and in the fight.
I do hope the war ends soon before it escalates to a full blown conflict in Europe, unfortunately it may come to that with how America (trump) is going and that putin is too far gone to reasoned with once that first soldier crossed the border in both 2022 and 2014.

I understand this look a little bit, I had to deal with my sister who was a narcissist and very selfish and it was always me, me, me with her. It was very stressful and difficult at times to have to balance what you say constantly in order not to set her off. I’m sure it’s far worse dealing with Putin but the same principle applies
Stupid question but wouldn’t it be the best idea to figure out how the Russian oligarchs can get more money in a peacefully cooperation? If we get that tight, we go on and make an offer. They’ll drop Putin within seconds, wouldnt they? Isn’t it just all about money?
