Yeah, still think it’s weird he became the step dad to his classmate.

A biography about Emmanuel Macron said he began having an affair with Brigitte when he was 16 years old, she was married with three children and was his drama teacher.

His parents were not okay with the relationship and had thought at first that Emmanuel was dating Brigitte’s daughter. They told Brigitte to stay away from their son, pulled him out of that school, but apparently Emmanuel had fallen in love with Brigitte and said that he would marry her one day. He ultimately did when he was 29 years old.

I’m not sure how age of consent laws or student teacher relationship laws work in France, but in many states across the US it is a criminal offense for a teacher to have a sexual relationship with a student even if the age of consent in that state is 16.

She was a teacher… was she his teacher?

What I find interesting is that this didn’t hurt him politically.
