They have no intentions to lessen the deficit or lower spending. They’re just gutting programs and taking the money used for those programs and allocating it elsewhere while giving corporations and the rich tax breaks.
They’re stealing from the American people and lining their pockets.
Anyone who’s worked in government for longer than a month knows everything they are doing is going to cost taxpayers way more than they save. These guys portray civil servants and government contractors as a bunch of lazy “bureaucrats” who sit around all day twiddling their thumbs. And yes it’s true that much of what the government does is highly inefficient, but it’s not that way because of career civil servants. It’s that way because of requirements passed down from Congress. None of the firings and contract cancellations solve the underlying issue of government waste and just set the federal government up for massive lawsuits when services are inevitably impacted. Then there’s all the cost to rehire the workers who were impulsively let go. Not to mention the significantly higher cost for buying government contracting services because of all the risk that is now priced in to said contracts.
Taxpayers are going to be on the hook for trillions of unnecessary cost as the result of everything that has happened since Trump and President Elon took over.
