I wanted to take this photo for a while now with dark, blue clouds in the back and light hitting the landscape in the foreground. Luckily this place is nearby so I had many opportunities to spontaneously check it out when I had time and the weather conditions looked promising. A few weeks back it finally happened and the light came through a small opening in the clouds, creating this magical scene! 🙂
I took this image on my Sony A7III at 30mm for those interested!
Great image OP, thanks for sharing it here.
This is one of my very favourite ‘landscape + weather’ type of views. I particularly love it in late summer (UK) when very dark-blue or black storm clouds appear to reach right down to the Earth in the background, as in OP’s photo, and contrasted against this in the foreground is a long, field-boundary line of White Poplar trees shimmering silver-white in the warm glow of low Golden Hour sunshine; this is often seen alongside motorways running West to East, and I’ve seen it countless times on the stretch of the M4 that runs through South Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, and Berkshire. Absolutely beautiful.
Damn Surreal
Nice photo!
I see these little clumps everywhere when driving through Germany and always wondered why they exist.

Very nice, reminds me of home. Was born in southern Germany. (It would be funny if the picture was taken where I once lived.)
