I have 2 PS5’s, one launch, one a launch Pro. I have 5 controllers. A family of 4 that plays the hell out of these machines. None of them have stick drift.

Hate to hear it, but unfortunately it feels like luck of the draw. I’ve had only one controller succumb to SD in the three or so years I’ve had my PS5, and I went ahead and bought the edge as a failsafe two years ago. I have three stick modules ready to go, and haven’t had a hint of SD with the edge. Sorry about your luck, OP—hopefully that red beauty is your last

I had one get replaced because of stick drift, and another because it would only hold about 45 minutes of charge.
These controllers feel great and the rumble is beautiful, but the QA is shit.

I’ve never had stick drift on any console, even my launch Switch (notorious for stick drift) which had 900 hours in Animal Crossing alone

I used my original PS4 controller from 2017 to 2024, up until I got my PS5 last year . I’m on my 3rd PS5 controller as well due to stick drift. Three controllers in one year is bogus.

Two controllers and my newer one has bad stick drift. Original one has some slight drift but not as bad.

Not wanting to have any of Sony’s BS quality joysticks, I went and replaced the original ones for “Hall effect” joysticks.
Cost was $25 USD (parts and installation) and so far (almost 2 years) they work as great as the original ones on day one.

Had a ps5 since a year after launch and never had stick drift in either controller. That’s either some really bad luck or you are eating around your controller and junk is getting in your controllers.

Stop eating while playing and wash your hands before playing. Don’t leave it on top of a table where crumbs etc. can fall on top of it. Seriously.

Yep seems to be common, never had that problem with ps4 unless I threw the controller at a wall. ” I never did that though” 🙈

I had my PS4 since 2013 and sold it when I got a PS5 in 2021.. When I sold it to my nephew, it was still with the original controllers (bad batteries for sure), and they were basically like new. I’m on my 4th dualsense since Jan 2021.

when i see dual sense edge. i think stick drift. then replacing the module. i’d rather just get another regular dual sense once stick drift starts happening and still be saving money.

I play a lot of COD, 2K, and rocket league which require a lot of stick control and had my pro controller for almost a year, 0 stick drift. I know people think they did it on purpose and everything to get you to buy the $200 controller, but i got mine half off and never looked back best controller i’ve ever purchased quality wise

I have both my controllers from day one release, no issues at all. I would like to say I rotate them but honestly I don’t think I do unless I think about it. I bought a blue one when it came out and it broke within 3 months ish.

I’ve had the opposite luck. My PS4 controllers had to be replaced every 6-12 months but my original PS5 controller is still fine after nearly two years. My Dualsense Edge controller did get stick drift once, but I can just swap the sticks, so it’s not that bad.
