Ok y’all.Van Gogh could see but only had one ear. Thus the mono audio cable plus video.Beethoven could see but not hear (towards the end of his life anyway) thus the video cable.Stevie Wonder is blind but has the use of both ears. Thus the stereo audio cables.Very clever

analog video may be outdated but analog Audio is still an existing Convention. stereo, mono, L/R etc is pretty common. the colour codes have just changed
