As an autistic person, this is so true.
Aren’t these the same people who would rather their children die of measles and rubella rather than have them vaccinated and “become” autistic?
Considering autism is a spectrum and can vary widely, it honestly shouldn’t matter to autistic people, like me. Like, should I automatically associate with Che Guevara because I’m latino? If I see a bad guy then they are which guy, no matter what physical or neurological similarities we have.
Also, I have seen autistic and other neurodivergent people do similar hand gestures. For example, when they rose their hands in class. Heck, I’ve seen neurological do it. Once my history teacher in high school joked about it when one student’s hand was angled a wee bit down when he wanted to answer a question.
Yeah we autists ain’t like that, we have our own weird shit to do.
