If they’re third trimester, they weren’t going to live, or may have already been dead.
Almost all his procedures are in the late stages of pregnancy, usually because the fetus has a catastrophic medical condition or the pregnancy endangers the woman’s health. Late-term abortion is difficult for all involved — patients, families, doctors, nurses and the rest of the clinic staff. Hern does not shy away from the hard stuff.
I know someone who’s life was personally saved by this man. No viability for the fetus either (and she very much wanted her baby) but she had to cross multiple state lines to get this procedure done.
Women would not willingly go months into a pregnancy, the third trimester, and risk their bodies changing [pissibly irreparrably], stressing and all of that just to then decide “lmao I changed my mind get rid of that”. Absolutely insane and braindead take of these people. In these cases, it is usually that the mother’s and/or fetus’ life is at risk or otherwise ill.
So he did the ones that would have killed the mother and baby. He really is a hero!
I’m convinced Republicans just hate anyone who brings good into the world and uses their influence to help people instead of hurt anyone they don’t like.
Such sad and miserable people.
Imagine how many of his patients went on to have healthy babies? Or just how many already had children at home that they stayed alive for, thanks to him?
People who slander doctors like him and patients like his will never understand the importance of his work until they or someone they love is in a position where they need that kind of health care. And a lot of them wouldn’t understand even then.

I sure am glad to be Canadian. It’s in our Charter of Rights and freedoms that we have access to abortion. It’s healthcare. Canada knows that.

The first stage of this is they inject the fetus with a drug to stop the heartbeat. So this stupidity that they pull the baby out alive & then pull the brain out is completely incorrect. Dr. Herb saved a lot of lives!

Right wing propaganda has convinced millions and millions of people that this man gladly and happily killed very healthy babies that women just came into his office and plain just didn’t want. Obviously, this is very far from the truth. Women came into his office in extremely awful circumstances, babies with awful medical situations, but right wing propaganda wants to control women from a man’s perspective, so there you have it.

Third term abortions are for health. If you don’t want to be pregnant you are not going to deal with it for six months. People who have to have third term abortions call them something else: a miscarriage. Because that’s what it is. If this happens to someone they are devastated at the loss of their pregnancy. They’ve already picked out names and bought clothing.
As a non-American, I believe there might be a middle ground. I fail to comprehend why this issue has become politicized.
I mean if it is medically required, then doctors should make that decision because they’re better qualified. And if there are social and financial issues, then the government should provide assistance.

No one would go through months of a pregnancy, which can be extremely hard on the body, not to mention restrictive in diet and lifestyle, just to thoughtlessly end it in the third trimester. If it’s happening that late, there’s almost certainly a medical reason as to why. And it’s disgusting that a person put in that position to choose would also have to justify it to the police, govt, etc in some states.

It’s hard to appreciate what a grueling job this must be. Hard to imagine that you ever going to hear any feel good stories in that line of work.
