Put a frame around it.

Put a frame around it. Looks sick tbh

I hate to tell you and you might not like what I’m going to say…you might need to repaint it.

Order a poster that’s at least that big.

Put a frame around it and call it art

Repaint the wall.

Eat a couple grams of cubes and wait for inspiration.

It looks like a window into the video for “Take On Me” by A-Ha.

Add new paint

Paint again? What skills do you really need to paint haha

Woah this is a really interesting pattern, no wonder everyone’s recommending a frame. It looks super geometric, probably because of some weird texturing or paint layers when it was applied

A slightly more sci Fi reason which is fun for me to entertain is that maybe there’s some kind of nearby radiation exposure that the paint chips are mapping 👀

My suggestion would be to frame it, Picasso 👌

So I’m not saying you *should* paint the wall since it’s not really your responsibility. But did you really just say you’re in college and you lack the skills to paint a wall? You’re in an institution of supposed higher learning that requires you to undergo alleged rigorous independent study, and you lack the skills to YouTube how to paint a wall, then use a roller to rub paint on the wall?

Bro…

Put a frame around it and call it “art”.

Put a frame around it and call it modern art.

Paint a frame around it.

Watch a couple of youtube videos on how to paint a room.

Buy a brush, a roller, and a can of paint (appropriate for the size of the room). Spend a day painting it and make it your own. That brown paint is pretty dark and depressing, and a nice light grey or off-white would brighten the room nicely.

Won’t cost you that much, depending on where you are, under $100 bucks. You do not need top of the line paint. Just get one with primer already in it to make your life easier. Will prob need a few coats due to how dark it is now.

Edit: and you get to learn a new skill that will benefit you in the future.

favorite band/movie/video game poster

It looks like a building, put a frame on it

Just frame it! Looks like a city street in brown white art to me

Ask maintenance to fix it is an option?

If not, just paint it, cheap and quick

I like it!

Not sure what your situation is with the lease/dorm agreement, but that should be repaired by the owner (using the deposit from the previous renter).  For whatever reason you can’t go that route, you can paint that whole wall for under $50 and is going to be way better than anything you try to do to fix it.  Or hide/frame it as others have mentioned, but you’ll probably pay as much for a frame as you would for a gallon of cheap paint, some masking tape and a decent roller.

for a second I thought this was some kind of abstract art😂

Crime scene photos . Don’t disturb the evidence .

kinda looks like star wars big ship

Paint

Lack of paint is the problem. If putting paint on there can’t be your solution then you’ll have to put something else cheaper. A poster.

‘Art’

Buy a mirror ?

Looks pretty good tbh. I would keep it, or frame it as other ppl said it.

Do the whole wall that way, it’s cool.

Repaint is the best option. Poster it. Or frame it like others are saying here.

Start peeling the rest of the wall and make the whole wall the same pattern. Little skill involved just the cost of your finger nails.

Dealing with Peeling Paint: A Step-by-Step Guide

Paint that’s peeling off the wall can be a frustrating and unsightly problem to deal with. Not only can it ruin the aesthetic appeal of your home or office, but it can also lead to structural issues if left unchecked. In this article, we’ll provide you with a step-by-step guide on how to deal with peeling paint and restore your walls to their former glory.

Causes of Peeling Paint

Before we dive into the solution, it’s essential to understand what causes paint to peel off the wall. Some common causes include:

  • Poor surface preparation before painting
  • Using low-quality paint
  • Moisture buildup behind the paint
  • Inadequate paint adhesion
  • High temperatures or humidity
  • Old or worn-out paint

Step 1: Assess the Damage

Before starting the repair process, inspect the peeling paint carefully. Check the extent of the damage, looking for areas where the paint is completely detached from the wall. Identify any areas with water damage, mold, or mildew, which may require additional attention.

Step 2: Clean the Wall

To ensure a smooth and even repair, clean the affected area thoroughly. Use a mild detergent and water to wipe away any dirt, grime, or mildew. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals, as they can damage the underlying surface.

Step 3: Remove Loose Paint

Use a putty knife or a paint scraper to gently remove the loose, peeling paint. Work in small sections, starting from the top of the wall and working your way down. Apply gentle pressure, as rough scrubbing can damage the wall.

Step 4: Sand the Wall

Once the loose paint is removed, use a sanding block or sandpaper to smooth out the wall. This will help create a surface for the new paint to adhere to. Sand in a circular motion, feathering out any rough edges or ridges.

Step 5: Fill Cracks and Holes

Use spackling compound to fill any cracks or holes created during the sanding process. Apply the compound to the affected area and smooth it out with a putty knife. Allow the compound to dry before sanding it down.

Step 6: Apply a Primer (Optional)

If the paint has been peeling for a long time, or if the wall has undergone significant damage, it may be necessary to apply a primer. A primer can help create a strong bond between the new paint and the wall, ensuring a smooth and even finish. Use a high-quality primer specifically designed for the type of paint you plan to use.

Step 7: Paint the Wall

Finally, it’s time to paint the wall! Choose a high-quality paint that’s suitable for the type of surface you’re painting (latex, oil-based, etc.). Apply the paint according to the manufacturer’s instructions, working in small sections and feathering out any edges.

Step 8: Inspect and Touch-Up

Once the paint is dry, inspect the wall carefully for any areas that may need touch-ups. If necessary, apply additional coats of paint to ensure a smooth and even finish.

Preventing Future Issues

To prevent paint from peeling off the wall in the future, consider the following:

  • Choose high-quality paint specifically designed for the type of surface you’re painting
  • Ensure proper surface preparation before painting
  • Avoid using paint in areas prone to moisture buildup
  • Use a primer to create a strong bond between the paint and the wall
  • Regularly inspect and maintain your walls to identify and address any issues promptly

By following these steps and taking preventative measures, you can restore your peeling paint to its former glory and enjoy a smooth, even finish for years to come.

A friend of mine used to stay in this room but he has since moved out and since I was looking for a place to move into I moved in but he had one of those stick on mirrors and when he removed it the paint chipped off along with it leaving this ugly looking pattern on the wall. I can’t really get it painted cause I am a college student and lack the tools skills and the money to buy all the paint needed so is there a quick fix/way I can hide or remove it?
