The Ultimate Guide to Using Your Tea Maker
Are you new to the world of tea making or have you recently acquired a tea maker but unsure of how to use it? Look no further! In this article, we’ll take you through the step-by-step process of brewing the perfect cup of tea using your tea maker.
Step 1: Prepare the Tea Maker
Before you start brewing your tea, make sure to rinse the tea maker with hot water to remove any residual flavor or odor from previous uses. This is an essential step to ensure the tea maker is clean and free of any unwanted flavors.
Step 2: Measure the Tea Leaves
The next step is to measure the perfect amount of tea leaves for your cup. The ideal amount will depend on the type of tea you’re brewing, as well as your personal preference. As a general rule of thumb, start with 1-2 teaspoons of loose-leaf tea or 1-2 tea bags for every 8 oz of water.
Step 3: Add Water
Fill the tea maker with fresh, filtered water to the recommended level. The water level may vary depending on the model of your tea maker, so be sure to check the manufacturer’s instructions. If your tea maker has a built-in water filter, now is the perfect time to use it to ensure the best flavor.
Step 4: Add Tea Leaves
Add the measured tea leaves to the tea maker’s basket or filter. Make sure the leaves are evenly distributed and not compacted to ensure the best flavor extraction.
Step 5: Close the Tea Maker
Close the tea maker and ensure it is securely locked to prevent any accidental spills or leaks during brewing.
Step 6: Select the Brewing Time
The brewing time will depend on the type of tea you’re brewing and your personal preference. Here are some general guidelines:
- Black tea: 3-5 minutes
- Green tea: 2-3 minutes
- White tea: 2-3 minutes
- Herbal tea: 5-7 minutes
Step 7: Brew Your Tea
Place the tea maker on a flat surface and press the "brew" button. The tea maker will start brewing the tea according to the selected time and temperature. You’ll hear the tea maker’s internal mechanism doing its magic to extract the perfect flavor from the tea leaves.
Step 8: Pour and Enjoy
Once the brewing cycle is complete, the tea maker will signal that your tea is ready. Pour the tea into your cup and enjoy the perfect brew.

- Experiment with different tea flavors and brewing times to find your perfect cup of tea.
- Use high-quality tea leaves to ensure the best flavor and aroma.

Can you do coffee as well?
That’s a percolator, I’ve only heard of it used for coffee. You fill the basket with ground coffee, fill the bottom with water, set it to boil and let it do its thing
Looks like some sort of percolator.
Looks like an old percolater coffee maker. Fill the pitcher with water to just below where the metal basket will be when placed in pitcher put ground coffee in the metal basket . Place lid with the glass on and plug in. You will be able to see how strong your coffee is through the lid.
I think that’s for coffee? Filter and grounds go in the round part. water in the pot.
Once you get the hang of it, you’ll have great coffee. My family used one when I was younger. I loved it.
Stove top percolator for coffee. I’ve got one just like it. Makes a great cup of Joe.
Yes, it will make tea too. Just put loose tea or tea bags in the basket. Keep an eye on the water that hits the clear part of the lid for the strength of your brew.
I know lots of people have told you to basically boil the water, but that’s a fine way to ruin a good coffee. What you need to do is get the pot hot enough that you see the water start bubbling over through that glass lid, then turn the heat really low if you’re on a gas stove, or pull the percolator until it’s only 1/3 on the element on an electric. Wait 4-7 (depending how dark you like it) minutes, then turn the heat off completely and if you’re on electric put the percolator on a hot pad instead of on the stove.
This should get you the best coffee you can percolate.
Actually it’s a coffee maker. The coffee grounds go in the little cup part at the top and then you put the lid with the little holes back on top of that to contain the coffee grounds I guess you could put tea in there if you’re trying to make tea either way it’ll hold whatever you want to make coffee or tea and you just put that whole metal piece inside the carafe with boiling hot water inside or you can heat it up on the stove cuz it should have a lid that will percolate it.
It’s a coffee percolator, and they went out of favor because drip coffee makers are much better and easier.

Even if you can’t find a cord, don’t pitch it. It’s a sought-after item and unusual. Do some research on the value.
That is a percolator and actually makes awesome coffee.
Some of those Corningware percolator were recalled because the handle came off. I don’t know if it was this model though.
Corning Glass is now owned by Dow. You remember Dow Chemical right? They did the Napalm thing and Agent Orange. Now they make coffee pots too.
If you like WEAK coffee you will love the coffee those things make. THEY SUCK!
