Title: Maximizing Your Shave with Discontinued Dollar Shave Club Razors Without a Handle
The eternal quest for a close and comfortable shave. With the recent discontinuation of Dollar Shave Club (DSC) handles, many shavers are left wondering what to do with their stash of unused cartridges. Fear not, dear shavers! We’re here to guide you on how to utilize those discontinued Dollar Shave Club razors without a handle and make the most of your shave game.
Why are handle-less razors still worth it?
- Save money: Don’t let those cartridges go to waste! Using a handle-less razor will ensure you continue to get the most value out of your purchase.
- Customize your shaving experience: You can use other handle designs or modifications to adapt the razor to your specific shaving needs and preferences.
- Innovative solutions: Experimenting with handle-less razors encourages creativity and adaptability in your shaving routine.
Step-by-Step Guide: Utilizing Discontinued Dollar Shave Club Razors Without a Handle
- Assess the situation: Examine your razor and cartridge setup to determine if they are still in good condition and worth salvaging. Look for any damage or worn-out parts.
- Choose the right holder or adapter: Research online or visit local shaving shops to find adapters, clips, or handles designed specifically for DSC razors or similar formats. Some popular options include:
- Razor handle clips (available on Amazon or at hardware stores)
- DSC Razor adapter for travel razors
- DIY creations (wood, metal, or silicone handle modifications)
- Clean and prep the cartridge: Gently rinse the cartridge under running water, then use a mild soap and soft cloth to wipe away any residue or buildup. Pat the cartridge dry with a lint-free cloth to prevent any corrosion or damage.
- Attach the holder or adapter: Once your holder or adapter is secure, gently slide the cartridge onto it. Ensure it’s firmly attached and aligned to avoid any awkward or loose fit.
- Experiment with grip options: Experiment with grip methods, such as a hair dryer and a hairnet (a.k.a. the " DIY shave-grip-thing"), a makeshift holder made from silicone, or even a repurposed toothbrush handle. The key is to find a comfortable, secure fit for your fingers and palm.
- Get creative with storage: Organize your razor in a safe, easily accessible place. Consider storing it in a travel bag, toiletry case, or on a magnetic strip in your shower.
Additional Tips:
- Store it securely: Always keep the handle-less razor securely stored when not in use to avoid accidents, lost pieces, or tampering.
- Take precautions during use: Hold the razor firmly while shaving to avoid any mishaps. It’s crucial to be cautious when shaving, as handle-less razors may not provide the same level of stability as a standard razor.
- Embrace the creative challenge: Don’t be afraid to experiment with new designs or modifications. Shaving can be a sensory experience; enjoy the creative process of finding your unique setup.

It is my understanding that Dorco was the manufacturer of blades for dollar shave club. If you like DSC older products or have leftover blades without a handle. Go on Amazon and buy a Dorco handle and/or blades.
I once read that their blades are sold by other manufacturers on Amazon. Might be worth trying to figure out which manufacturers and see if they still have the handles.
Go to the dollar store and buy the kit there. DSC doesn’t use proprietary handles or blades. They just buy the same cheap stuff you can get at the dollar store, rebrand it, and mark it up as part of a subscription service.

I saw a bunch of handles for sale at my local Walgreens just two days ago. They were marked down because they’re discontinued. I think it was like 10 bucks for the handle and two blades?
Weren’t the original dollar shave club things just rebranded generic dorco ones? You can probably get a handle from dorco directly or 2nd hand from ebay.
Needle nose pliers + rubber band.
They are usable with no handle but if you’re like me you’ll just drop it a bunch.
I forgot the handle on a long trip and still had the blades. Held each side between my thumb and middle finger and pressed it to my face with my index finger. It was not ideal but was really not that bad.
Just hold the back part that connects to the handle. Do they pivot? I’ve done this with a mach3 razor before
Pliers that lock?
Pretty sure you can buy the handles on amazon. They might come with additional razor heads but you’d be good for a while.
I had discontinued razor blades and no handle, I used a Popsicle stick and I used hot wax as glue (I was waxing my eyebrows) and it worked REALLY well, if you dont have wax I’d try hot glue.
