Black Friday deals stink this year.
I haven’t bought anything from black Friday deals in a few years. It’s the same crap and then you have places like Target posting their deals 20-30% off, but it’s actually their normal price.
I put some things in my amazon cart weeks ago just to see what happened. The same things are still at the exact same price but with a red label saying “black friday deal”
The ONLY difference in price i can find is technically you get 10% cash back on the prime card instead of the usual 5-6%. Ebay has the same things cheaper.
If you microwave your new echo dot long enough part of it becomes edible with a lil hot sauce

They really be putting unnecessary shit on sale during Black Friday.
I work overnight stocking at a Walmart. I went to take my last break at 5:59 (1 minute before our store opens, at 6:00am) and there was a 4-person wide line of people that ran halfway down the street. I was genuinely shocked because our deals are kinda shit. We have like, 2 TVs that might have been worth getting. The store was the fullest I’ve ever seen it. I totally do not get it. The deals are not worth waiting outside before the store opens anymore.

My local grocery had a commercial for big black Friday sales, everything was the same price. Still needed a couple things but what a let down.

Funnily enough the only thing I got as a black Friday deal was a 30 count of fig bars. I’m patiently waiting for them to arrive.
I save at least $10 a grocery ticket when I shop.at Walmart. The same items are as much as $3 more at my local Groccery Store that boasts low prices. Is it profit taking? I stopped shopping at the local store.

I’ve never seen the appeal in black Friday just because things I typically want aren’t really the things I want even if I had the money in the first place.
But you bet your ass I’d be one of those rabid zombies busting down the doors and slitting throats if the actual groceries were on the sale.

Funny. Here in New Zealand, for the first time I’ve noticed our supermarkets are now doing Black Friday sales. Nothing massive, just another opportunity for a quick buck but still. I’ll take a few dollars off my shopping bill this week.

A good chunk of people in the US still don’t own a 4K TV. That and people have old ones that they want to upgrade and whatnot. Electronics and toys have always been the big things for Black Friday.
Margins for grocery are 5-10%, vs idk 40% for electronics.
Grocery margins are tiny. No room to reduce.
You don’t need a human to make a TV, so they’re cheap. Human labor is expensive!
Groceries go on sale weekly.
If you know how to cook all the sales for thanksgiving stuff is pretty damn cheap. You’re not going to get junk food on sale buddy.
