Cute as all hell. Cooked for Peter, constantly checked on him, stood up to her dad for Peter.
She showed more interest in Peter than MJ ever did, WITHOUT HER KNOWING THAT PETER IS SPIDER-MAN. SHE CARED FOR PETER PARKER.
First, she was silly when watching it as a younger man. Then, she became hot. Not just looks, but the way she cares and takes care of Peter.
It’s a joke on us. We used to mock this character and actress about her skinny looks and awkwardness. But the truth is, Peter went out to look for gold (Mary) but a lost a diamond (her). She was loving him for Peter Parker, not for Spider-Man
For those who don’t know who she is, this is Ursula from Tobey Maguire’s spider man 2 and 3 movies. When we were young she seemed silly and (perhaps) ugly compared to MJ, but growing up most of us realized that she was the best girl, she truly liked Peter but also wanted the best for him, and supported him when he was in doubt of himself.

She is wife material, and MJ is only girlfriend material. As you get older, you realize that it is more important to have someone who cares for you than someone who is physically attractive.
As a kid I thought she was amazing and upset she didn’t get the attention she deserved, like she made food for him!
With Spidey 4 coming they have good chance of bringing back the character specially since Peter is back to zero now.

genuinely curious why men don’t like mary jane in this iteration. She asked peter parker to be her man and he was like no I can’t (secretly worried about her getting hurt?) and she moved on. Men seem to take that personally?
Not gonna lie, I was expecting the answer to be porn, somehow.
I guess I was the same but I thought she was cute even then. But more so now because she’s the rare quiet girl that wouldn’t cause you drama and stress you out, she just wants to make sure your ok and eat cookies.
Honestly I remember her and the landlord (because they were making a cruel joke at the expense of Steve Ditko) more than anything else.
She was a great character and deserved better. So. Did the actor who played her. Only other thing I recall seeing her do was the theater worker sweeping up popcorn in yh first SpongeBob movie.
It is about the adolescent misconception that glamour is sexy. There are more 8mportant things when it counts.

Tangentially Re: Zero did a girl like her so dirty I swore off all Japanese media forever. It wasn’t strictly about Ram or Rem or whichever it was, just a final misogynistic straw that broke this camel’s back after I had a tow year fixation where I *had* to watch every anime episode released. I mean it, every episode of every show that aired in 2015 or 2016 (plus or minus cause time is funky) and I still had time to watch every anime in the Yuri tag on Kissanime that year as well. (I deal with intrusive thoughts/fixations better in my middle age)
Bonus: Gintama reboot is my favourite anime of the contemporary ones I was watching. Maria sama ga Mitteru was prolly my fav “new to me” and Outlaw Star and Cowboy Bebop remain tied for my favs of all time because I am an American of a certain age.
I recently watched this trilogy with my mom again and we both went “MJ kinda sucks…why couldn’t it be this girl? She’s actually cute and caring!”
