Or when i use the “never seen before” option but still recognise 20%of the vids.

Really annoying when it actually works but then a different channel pulls up with a random reaction of his on another subject.

This was part of my job so I figured out the main way to actually do this.
You both have to do the 3 dots options to Don’t Recommend Channel
AND
Go into your watch history and remove any videos of that channel you might have watched. Including any video that mentions them or has them tagged as well.
The recommended uses what you watch, and subscribe to, and “the algorithm” to send you stuff.
Yes. It has been programmed to basically ignore “never show me this” if you have it in your history.
When my recommended queue is getting janked, a quick purge of certain stuff in my watch history clears things up for months.

This never happened to me. I do it all the time and I use it efficiently. If you disable a channel from your feed, but accidentally google it yourself and watch more videos, your consent gets reversed and the channel appears in your feed again.

It pisses me off because I got recommend a video, saved it to watch it later and the Asmongold version where he just sits there and watches it shows up on my recommended and it always has more views than the original. He’s such a little weasel that is so quick to just steal shit ffs

I had to block several channels to get Asmongold out of my feed: the main channel, an Asmongold Shorts channel, a reaction channel, and channels of people reacting to Asmongold. It’s crazy irresponsible to recommend this guy to people. Hate speech dressed up as family-friendly memes and gaming.

I like football & I like video games.
Youtube thinks this means I want to be shown EVERY Fifa video that has ever existed no matter how many times I say I’m not interested in this.

I almost think I’d rather the placebo of “not recommending” when faced with the “No, this tool is too popular, you may not choose to selectively block him.”
It’s beyond annoying that some channels are “too good” to be blocked.

You should check the channel names. As far as I know, he doesn’t post the vids/vods himself. His audience does it. And they get all the royalties. So new channels popup very frequent.
And if you watch his reactions, you get more (also from suggested channels). So it probably works the same the other way around.

YouTube Music seems to work the same way.
“I see you like electronic music from the 90’s. How about some Moby?”
*Rate down*
“But, what about some Moby, though?”

“But could I perhaps interest you in some Moby?”
I go into Moby’s channel and literally thumbs down every track on every album and single.

Why can’t we just have a block function, Youtube? Would that be so hard to implement?
