I still can’t fucking believe it
This level of stupidity is a choice when the knowledge of humanity is at everyone’s fingertips.
“Primitive” is the perfect word to describe these people.
One of the biggest issues is that information is so accessible that actual truth and facts are easily outweighed by bullshit. And our culture has been embracing the notion that my information is just as good as your information – regardless of actual truth or reality

To be fair, tariffs are not all bad philosophically, especially if you claim your platform is “America First”.
They are however bad if you want everything to become cheaper,
I believe they know exactly what they are doing. Destruction of America from the inside.
Unfortunately, bullshit has also never been more accessible. As has been observed many times, a lie makes it halfway around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes.

One of the things I hate so much about this timeline is how frequently I have to agree with David Frum.
Propaganda. That’s it.
It’s not ignorance. Truth is straight up losing the war to propaganda meant to destabilize Western democracies.
It’s not a coincidence that fascist ideology is spreading across the globe.
Bear in mind that Frum is a staunch conservative and worked in the Bush admin as a speechwriter. He’s responsible for the following gem, too: If conservatives become convinced they cannot win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. They will reject democracy.
So he may be prescient but he also helped orchestrate the status quo.
Knowledge isn’t the issue. It’s the ability to critically analyze the information. Something we don’t promote in education overall in America.

Dudes, he got elected because a whole fucking bunch of people just don’t look any further than the end of their noses. Confidence schemes and narcissistic personalities depend on that factor and they’ve been doing just fine forever. For fuck’s sake Ol’ Frankie Baum was writing about this shit long before Dot and her friends made Technicolored Dreams that still deliver at the goddamn box office.
Start making people better instead of whining about how shitty they are. Pick your methods to suit yourself. Want to call out assholes? Have at it! Want to spread the word and insist that people trust in truth? Go, go, go! Want to shine a beacon in the darkness? Right the fuck on, man!

Many magas probably aren’t going to be aware of this threat from Trump for a few weeks. The maga I talk to believes Musk and Vivek are doing the work of the DOGE group “because they love their country so much” and also believes the post office doesn’t make money, it costs money, so it’s bad. And who uses the post office anyway? Old people. Too bad for them, but it’s more important for the government to MAKE MONEY (in his view).
He’s watching tiktok etc. He’s in his mid 50s. Successful guy, makes more $ than I do. Just not very critically aware?

It’s one of those things that make you realize that it can’t *just* be ignorance. There is more to the story. Something far more sinister.
