In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007), Hermione, Ron, and Harry agree to watch Grawp, Hagrid’s autistic giant half brother. They leave him tied to a tree and we never hear from him again, proving that they really Grawp-t the ball.

Yeah I think in the books they left him some Kit Kats and a fidget spinner so he’s alright.

Grawp was such a random fucking character. He’s introduced, does basically nothing, and then is never seen again.

I always think about how messed up this is whenever HP is brought up. Nobody had a problem with tying this disabled guy to a tree, outdoors?!

Should have gone like this “We’re wizards Hagrid, we can just make him a house using wizard stuff.”

Doesn’t he help in the final fight?

Really revealing JK’s fantasies of abandoning the neurodiverse.

Tying your very large toddler to a tree in the cursed wood isn’t the best custody arrangement.

Hagrid can’t take care of him properly, he’s clumsy and lashes out, and he is way stronger then his older brother. He can’t be trusted to stay put and not walk off – like a toddler. Hagrid doesn’t have magic to restrain him because he’s been stripped of his wand.

It’s not meant to be a good idea. It’s meant to be a desperate man trying to keep a family member alive in spite of being utterly unequipped to do so.

Tied to a tree and Hagrid says, he gets his own food. How, you tied him to a tree!!

Boo.

this is just like that flashgitz cartoon where they keep abandoning kids in the woods but then they come back as bad asses in clothes made from giant spiders

Even though there’s a screenshot I am STILL having trouble believing this happened? GRAWP?? Holy shit dude

Does that giant have a skin fade and had been mewing?

In general, there are so many parts of Harry Potter that don’t match up at the end. You notice that Rowling wrote the books with her children in mind, because the worldbuilding falls apart if you start to ask questions.

Hagrid was always putting them in the deadliest of situations 😭😭.

Didn’t they get him a suit of some kind for dumbledore’s funeral or was that a strange dream I had

Don’t they also leave umbridge to presumably be raped by him? God, that was fucked up

Except he quite literally appears again several times. At least in the books. As for the movies, I’m not fully sure. I’m positive they didn’t leave him tied to a tree though.
