Illinoisian who didn’t vote for him because I thought he was too rich and would just be another corrupt rich politician – I like him. He is seemingly the furtherest thing from corrupt, seems to genuinely care about effectice governance. I think he would make a great President

Democratic Governor JB Pritzker warns Americans against the threats to their democracy and says if they don’t want to repeat history, they should be strong enough to learn from it. Pritzker says the seed of “distrust, hate and blame” is being sown to divide Americans and that he is “watching with a foreboding dread what is happening to our country.” Pritzker appeals to Americans to take a stand, warning, “the authoritarian playbook is laid bare here….We don’t have kings in America, and I don’t intend to bend a knee to one.”

He’s been doing fantastic things for Illinois for years. While I will vote for pretty much anybody who isn’t Trump, I would be really excited to vote for him for president.
I saw this dudes interview with Hasan Minhaj. Seems like one of the few decent politicians.

This man is amazing! If you don’t like him, I encourage you go spend some time experiencing what’s like to live in a red state. Don’t believe the bs you hear on talk radio or Fox lies … go see for yourself. Bring your bootstraps.. you will need them.

I didn’t vote for him first time around, but wow I’m so glad he’s my governor. Very pleasantly surprised with what an authentically great person he is.

I know trump wont be running again but I think JB is one of the only democrats that could go toe to toe with him in terms of rhetoric. Dems need to do something different and someone who can shit talk with the republicans is maybe the answer.

AND unlike previous Illinois Governors, it appears that he won’t be going to jail anytime soon. Considering the current political climate, people might not consider him a legitimate presidential candidate because he’s not a convicted criminal.

He is an amazing governor! He held daily briefs during the pandemic displaying transparency, empathy, and scientific-based approaches to handling the pandemic. He is protecting trans children and adults, women’s rights, and marriage equality. He has done a lot of good for our state.
For those that don’t know, many southern Illinoisans want to succeed from the state. They think they are not fairly represented in the state. But, they don’t realize that the Chicagoland tax revenue is basically flipping their infrastructure and state amenities. Without the taxes from Chicago, they would struggle significantly. They would have zero tourism and commerce to pay for their infrastructure.
