What Biden needs to do is go commit a crime, then try to pardon himself for it, force the issue to the Supreme Court, and have the Supreme Court rule against him. Set the precident that a President cannot pardon themselves and piss Trump off.
This would only reward Trump since he’d now be able to sell his cultists new 48 merch.
Who would become the VP in this case, since the VP has to certify the results, no?
I know someone so anti-woman that he talks about how this is his worst fear – having a woman president for even a few days. He’s certain she would declare ~~marshall~~ martial law and lock up Trump.
But he’s ok with a guy who, multiple times, said he would be a dictator.
He’s also on Medicare, significantly using it, and keeps voting to defund Medicare because it raises his taxes. So, that the brain power we’re dealing with.
What’s the more?
Would not be worth making the first (and possibly only) female president of the US into a participation trophy, given by a man, that lasted for a day or two. Right wingers would never shut up about it and I can’t imagine many feminists would be thrilled either.
If Biden was going to do anything, he would have done it by now. He’s not going to use the king-like powers SCOTUs granted to Trump to do anything to stop it because at the end of the day Biden is a political dinosaur that is going to do the “correct” thing and transfer power peacefully because it’s presidential. Never-mind that the person he’s transferring power to literally tried his best to not transfer power to him 4 fucking years ago.
Just gotta hope there is enough testicular fortitude left in our country to make sure we have real elections over the next 4 years. I’m fairly certain Trump/et all will bring this country (potentially world) into another clusterfuck within that time span and people will be outraged enough to vote against Rs, but the only question is will those elections be real or Russian/North Korean style elections.
This confirms to me that no one in this thread was on the internet in 2016 because this is the *exact same thing* people said Obama should do.
This is such a stupid idea, for so many reasons. The biggest loser in all of this would be Kamala, who becomes known as a short term participation trophy potus who was only put there to piss half the country off.

The exact same thing was said in 2016/17. “Obama should resign a day before the inauguration so that Biden becomes the 45th president, and render all of Trumps merch obsolete”

And then she gains the distinction of being given something she didn’t earn. A point Trump’s followers would attack relentlessly. In my view, that’d ruin her chances of ever winning election in her own right.
This is amusing, but Mr. Norms and Precedents isn’t going to do a damn thing to rock the boat in the time he has left. I would love nothing more than for him to do some really big and necessary things on the way out the door. I mean Republicans might do this to themselves. If Mike Johnson isn’t Speaker to inaugurate Trump then there isn’t a president, or VP, or Speaker of the House so the next in line would be President pro tempore of the Senate. So Patty Murray would be 47. And Dems wouldn’t have to lift a finger.
