God I hate when this gets reposted cause T Roosevelt was still a racist pos. For example, he encouraged white women to have tons of babies to keep America white and endorsed the slaughter of indigenous Americans (said he agreed with 9/10 indigenous deaths). He wasn’t some massive civil rights advocate like these posts suggest – my guess is he cared more about the importance of maintaining federal power in a situation like this.
