It takes a special kind of cat to enjoy being at a cat show. The purebred cats are trained for it from birth. For a random cat to go with the flow and settle into the experience is legitimately impressive.
For a second I thought “cat shows” meant shows about cats and I was confused when it mentioned a judge lol
I’m gonna see if I can enter a mountain lion.
My primary school had a pet show for the annual fete one year, and our then family cat was 1 of 3 kitties who entered. Fluffy won Biggest Cat In Show, bcoz the others were shorthaired tabbies but he was half Maine Coon
It’s actually better than that – you get a participation award for simply showing up (and for not being declawed) but from what I’ve seen you can get your cat judged as a *very* good cat for things like being healthy and personable, and they all have the same haughty titles as the purebred categories. You can have a grandmaster house cat.

That’s how all cat and dog shows should be! No weird breeding shit that hurts the animals! They are all gorgeous!
