Kristofferson came out to introduce O’Connor, saying, “I’m real proud to introduce this next artist whose name became synonymous with courage and integrity”.

If she had ripped up a pic of the pope in early 2002, no one would’ve batted an eye. She was just ahead of her time. Great artist none the less.

The irony of this taking place at a Bob Dylan anniversary celebration is too much. I really wish Sinéad would have yelled “Judas!” back at the audience before leaving the stage.

A very complex woman. It’s hard to really nail down her as a person, but a truly talented musican who I think just wanted the world to be a better place.
I always remember her for her bravery and saying what she thought, like the time she said she wanted the Republic of Ireland to be destroyed and replaced by a United Ireland and that Ireland should’ve stayed under British rule….a hell of thing to say considering her background.

I was like 14 and my mom was a staunch Catholic. We didn’t have a lot of modern music in our house to begin with, but after that show of defiance to the pope, I didn’t end up hearing her music until after she passed.
She looks so young here. This person a third of the globe turned on was so young. I can’t imagine what it felt like to perform again.

While he’s cool and all, why the fuck does everyone credit him more than her here? Watch the video, she sings her fucking heart out to everyone, not him. Sinead is the amazing one. Dont give dudes credit for doing the bare minimum (im a dude that only does the bare minimum, myself).
