German Scools in a nutshell
I was in secondary school (high school for our American friends) in the middle 90s and I can confirm, IT was ALLL basically “how to use office software” – there was nothing in there at all about actual computing.
We were still covering word processors when I was in my final year.
Typing in MS works (that’s right, works, not wordoffice yet) counted towards my final grade. It was ridiculous.
In reality its still dogshit with a great pay. But u will be a excel and word teatcher and some random stuff and google..
Same happened to me. I was thinking I was gonna have fun experimenting with Blender but instead it was just making dumb PowerPoint presentations for an hour
I’ve been in IT for twenty years.
Picking hardware, building pcs, that’s hobbyist stuff.
IT is plunging the shit stuffed toilets of the technological world.
