I think most of his supporters don’t understand that he’s not talking about the average person’s wealth increasing during his presidency. He’s talking about how the rich will get richer and the poor will remain poor, or maybe even more poor.

They did that before. Guy on Facebook was arguing about Democrats wanting to take their guns, so I told him Trump said “Take the guns first, due process later”. He challenged me on it, so I sent him a video clip of it. He then proceeded to do the “bleh bleh, he didn’t mean this and that” after denying he said it in the first place.

This is what’s so scary about his followers: they’re literally so obsessed with Trump that you can WAVE actual quotes from him in their faces, and they still deny it.
Someone in another sub I’m in asked how Trump was a fascist. I gave them direct quotes about the “enemy within stuff”, quotes proving his ultranationalism, etc. Pointed out how these related to fascism. The response?

The UNC CEO shooting showed then that they have a new avenue for the class war: let the CEO’s take the fall. The Walmart CEO came out saying that grocery prices will only go up and there’s an outcry. The GOP and Trump are happy to let them take the fall and be attacked by the masses so they are insulated. The CEO’s can scream it’s the Gov’t policies causing this but it will fall on deaf ears because it is THEIR company causing the pain. This is showing in real time how Trump is willing to throw anyone under the bus if it benefits him, including his biggest supporters and donors who will directly benefit from his policies. His followers are stupid enough to give him a pass and blame anyone he says is at fault.
