People who amass 62 billions get it by working off of other people’s back. It’s all they know and they always want more.

I have worked around a lot of extremely wealthy people over the last decade. What I learned was no one becomes extremely wealthy by accident, they do it to fill a gaping hole in their lives and when they fill that hole they have to tell everyone about it and when no one listens to them because they’re wealthy and don’t relate to normal people they get even more weird and outspoken and their lives become about being relevant and respected which oddly they no longer are because they’ve taken themselves out of the “normie” consideration set. They’re not all like this but certainly many of the ones I met were and is Elon Musk in a nutshell.

Because you dont get to a billion dollars by simply lacking scruples, but from a pathologic need to acquire more capital. Its like asking why people who desire power over others go into politics, police, or management. Its a self selecting process.

Most of these famous billionaires have a personality disorder. The literal (soon to be) trillionaire goal right now is to sacrifice people and the livability of Earth in order to try and colonize Mars. These guys may look human, but they have no humanity

You don’t get to own 62 billion dollars and still be a good human. I’d say 99% of anybody who is worth more than a couple billion are all psychopaths. Like, literally clinical psychopaths. The only way to own that much money is to be evil asf. Every part of whatever business you own is built upon pain and suffering of some kind. You workers are overworked and underpaid, your customers are overpaying for your service, your suppliers are manufacturing via slave labor, your product is poor quality in every way to ensure maximum margins and the only way it all works is because you have a monopoly of whatever marker you’re in.
That’s why they’re all up in people’s lives. That’s what they do. They love this shit.
Good people can’t make more than a few hundred million simply because they’ll sell whatever company they own before it gets to billions. Normal people know when enough is enough. Your average guy couldn’t spend 1 billion even if they tried, so why waste your life building a company to be worth more than 1 billion, let alone 62 billion.

Unfortunate as it is, in our current world, money brings power. And if you have power and only use it for your own good, you’re wasting your life. Powerful people should have a duty to use their power to make the world better, but that’s not what they believe. The majority of ultra-rich people isn’t really happy, they just like to pretend that they can buy happiness. But no island or yacht in the world can save you from the emptiness inside.

My favorite example is Tom from MySpace. We all knew him when MySpace was a thing, but he disappeared after selling it and letting it get absolutely ran into the ground.
Being a traveling photographer is always listed as what he does now. If you search there’s a few news stories of him “considering” investing or advising some company, but no confirmation that he did.
And that’s it. Nothing else is in the news because he keeps his head down and enjoys life. An absolute dream.

People say: I would lay low and just do what I want.
But at some point you did all you ever wanted to do, and then you look at what else you can do. And for many it ends with “how can I make an impact on the world”. Some will do philanthropic or humanitarian projects, some will look into issues they want to change in their image.
I know, if I would ever be a billionaire, I would do that at some point. Influence architecture schools to teach how to make beautiful buildings again instead of the ugly modernist boxes, supporting political parties I think are beneficial to my view of the world, heck even stuff like forming my own mercenary band to fight against war mongering tyrants.
People would change a lot if they would have that amount of money, and thus power.

Having a rich friend who’s unapologetically honest, it’s about control. Money becomes a way to control those around you, and amassing more wealth is about expanding this influence.
