Im not a parent but idk what these parents are. Id laugh at my kid and tell him he deserved that tbh. What ever happened to “what comes around goes around” and all that.

As a kid (like 5) we all had a water fight. I sprayed my friends mum with a small water pistol. She came back with a bucket of water and threw it over me. I had an asthma attack and nearly died lol… but learnt to not fuck around!

Going to get downvoted here but if your cat is outside in a neighborhood, you’re a piece of shit pet owner.

I’ll probably get downvoted, but maybe dont stoop to the level of a 10y year old when you are a grown adult. Just tell the kid to fuck off and tell his parents to tell the kid to fuck off.

If that was my child I would have asked very politely for you to just let me know next time, so that we can coordinate and get them with 2 buckets of water at the same time.

Cats and people are not equal. Perhaps the dad should just bend over and stick his butthole in the woman’s face.

Children shouldn’t be finding joy in causing distress to other living things.
If the kid is acting like a little psycho, and his parents don’t give a shit, then be needs to be taught not to be a little shit by everyone else.
If the parents want to be mad at anyone, it should be at themselves for failing to raise their kid to be a good person. 10 years old is more than old enough to understand the difference between right and wrong. If the kid was a toddler, I’d get the argument that she’s out of order. This isn’t the case here. It’s obvious that he gets away with this sort of shit a lot. I hope he doesn’t have younger siblings, because chances are he’s terrorising them.

How you treat an animal is one of the biggest tells of someones character. If I learned my kid did that, it would be a massive flag to me as a parent. I would have apologized to the neighbor for my kids actions and to let me know if they see any more actions as such.

Does the cat go in their yard ever? Or was this entirely animal abuse.
We used to throw water at the outdoor cats that invaded our backyard. Probably a dick move thinking back, but didn’t want them in your yard damaging/eating or pooping etc and yelling or chasing them didn’t solve anything.

The real story:
This 10 year old kid grew up fascinated by birds and spends hours every day hanging in the backyard watching the bird feeder, listening to their different calls, drawing them in his notebook with particular attention to all the different colors that make up their feathers. Then he sees it, the shitty neighbors unsupervised nuisance of a cat on the fence again, doing what it always does..stalking; just waiting for its opportunity to murder one of his frienss. In the past he’s tried yelling at the cat, to no avail as the cat is always fixed on it’s target, unrelenting with it’s cruelty. So the kid, being so fed up with his shitty neighbor and their shitty cat dumps out what’s left of the OJ from his cup and fills it full of water from the bird feeder and hucks it at the cat, defending the lives of the birds he was has come to know and love. And in his mind he did what he had to do, really all he could do as a 10 year old. His momentary feeling of pride cut short by his shitty neighbor acting like a 10 year old. But the neighbor got the last laugh as she went on the internet to let everyone know how awesome she is.

Grown woman retaliates the same way a child misbehaves and she believes she’s in the right. Hilarious.
Truly the perfect storm of things Reddit stands for:
– Hates Kids
– Loves animals more than people
– Loves petty retribution that accomplishes nothing.
