God, I just installed Windows 11 finally and getting various folders out of onedrive was such a pain in the ass. I actually had to go into the registry.
I know this is reposted a thousand times but I had such a massive issues claiming my own folders back from onedrive that I will upvote it every time.

I do not want to create my game save on the cloud, I want a save file in my PC. That I own. On my SSD.

Just put it on my desktop, overlaid on top of the other 1,845 files so I know exactly where everything is please.
You can disconnect OneDrive from your drive locations. It took some fiddling to do though. Windows 10. I’m not sure about 11.
I think people just need to understand what cloud storage actually means. You’re not saving to “the cloud” you’re saving to someone else’s computer.
I don’t want to be your onedrive A.I. trainer or contribute to the hoarding of wealth by the few.

Ah One Drive. Yet more unintuitive, useless horseshit from Microsoft that came factory on my computer alongside the other 90 gorillion useless apps and programs that are just there even though I’ve literally never used them nor intended to use them in my life.
Ok, but have you considered that makes it more difficult for Microsoft to take all of your data for free? No, you didn’t. Because you’re selfish. Think of the megacorporation, they worked hard to steal that data from you.
I’m still ordering dvds, cds, and LPs as I prefer to have physical copies of things I purchase.

In Office apps F12 will directly prompt you to save it in your local folders
I enabled one drive after my computer blue screened and couldn’t read the hard drive. Managed to recover everything later but still, having a cloud backup feels rather useful.
Simple, just uninstall it!
